Well, depends on your preferred playstyle. I'd go Assasin/Duelist. Skills I consider important are:
Expl. Strike Upgraded(Up), Twin Fangs
Precision
Follow-through
Stealth
Full Assasin tree except Pinpoint strikes upgrade
Parry Upg
Vendetta Upg

There is no point messing with stealth, aggro removal and whatnot in DA2. Straight duelist/assassin rogue wipes the floor with anything, including Arishok in single combat.
Vendetta, Assassinate, Twin Fangs and tough enemies keel over.

One on one, sure. If they crowd you, you are toast on NM. A singke point in Stealth is a life. Unless ofcourse you invest in Parry, the Defense passive and some CON to make your rogue a tank as well, like the build I use.
End game stats with items:
99% crit chance, 201% crit dmg, 100/100/100 Attack, 80/80/80 Defense, 24 Fortitude, 300hp, 31% dmg res(56% with Gauntlet), 37% mag res, 47/37/27 Armor, 195 DPS, Immune to Crits, 93%/83% phys dmg res against Gauntleted Elites/Bosses respectively etc, etc. It's certainly doable.
