It said on an error screen my hardrive is not compatible with copy of Mass Effect 2. I can play it, but the game is really slow, aiming, moving, shooting, ect ( in other words, it keeps lagging). Is there any way to download an update to my hardrive to make the game smoother? I would appreciate some assistants. Please and thank you.

Read this thread, and post a full report as per its instructions.

If you cant do that, then we have to guess. My money is microscopic goats tap dancing on the platters, and thus disrupting the balance.

From the very, very limited information you gave, I can tell you there is nothing that can be done to make your PC run the game more effectively. The Celeron cpu is way too underpowered for the task at hand, and I assume from teh age of your machine, just about everything else in there would be underpowered as well. When you stated the error said you "hard drive was incompatible", we assumed, based on your information, we were taklking about a hardware issue with a single component ofa PC. Instead, you made the mistake of referrnig to your computer as a "hard drive".
Upgrade your PC, and go on a computer basics course and learn the correct terminology, as it will help you in future if you require assistance.

Let's make at least one thing very certain here.

Hardware is static.  It can wear out, but it cannot act like a Transformer and alter itself.  There is no software anywhere than can physically CHANGE the form and capability of hardware.  "Downloads" are strictly sotware and are related to other software.

A technician or an experienced PC owner can physically remove parts and replace them in recently produced PCs that are actually worth the time and trouble to perform those UPGRADES on.  Those are different activities than downloading software.

For people who are techno-phobic, console gaming is a better answer to their emotional difficulties.
