...then how exactly did Kaiden/Ashley escape the Collectors? Was playing ME2 tonight while trying to get sleepy and came across Horizon, and saw Ash get "frozen" by a seeker. Having played ME2 before, I know that Ash is going to show up and confront me after taking down that damned Praetorian lol.

Anyway, this brings to question: how exactly did the VS escape the Collectors? All the other colonists ended up in those pods on the Collector base, yet Ash/Kaiden somehow escapes unharmed/unchanged? I don't buy it...

it bugs me that they walked out like nothing happened...all nonchalantly and then wanted to chastise Shep in front of his crew. Disloyal no integrity having so and so's!

some made it along with Ash/Kaiden, they just don't show other survivors in the following scene.

So I suppose that Ash could be in that half. Maybe the Collectors left her alone because she was the bait TIM gave the Collectors to go after Shep?

I just hope we can ask them how it felt to be frozen by the seekers!

We can assume that the frozen colonists got unfrozen once the collector ship took off. The VS was one of the people on Horizon who weren't collected.

Perhaps the freezing effect only lasts while the ship is actually groundside. That would explain why that other guy next to the VS is unfrozen. That guy is no soldier, so I doubt he outran the swarms.

Is he the same guy who is with Ash/Kaidan right before the confrontation? That's the NPC I mean. The one who ****es at you for not pulling the collector ship out of the sky. Ungrateful jerk.

The seeker swarm uses a form of neuropoison most likely. If a poison doesn't kill you, it'll eventually be purged from your system. I'd guess the Collectors know how long it takes for it to wear off, and plan their collections accordingly, leaving just before people would start coming around.

I will incessantly mock them and make them feel like **** for treating me the same
For letting petty grievances take over common sense and lose sight of the big picture
Ask what right they have to call themselves a Spectre? They do not deserve the title.
Most of all, I will say... TO THEIR FACE... "Get Out! I don't need you. The Galaxy does not need you!"

@Wizen

Makes sense. It seems a little quick for it to flush out that fast, but then again, gametime is faster than realtime.

It's a stasis field, as you learn by examining the frozen colonist.  For instance, Mordin will say:

"Victim appears conscious. Fully aware. Trapped in stasis. Fascinating."

Other squaddies have similar comments. Also, you can see the stasis field.

Pretty simple really:

No Collectors, no swarms.
No swarms, no fields.
No fields, no longer frozen.

If they are using a neurotoxin too, then it's one with a short half-life in the body and only used to initially slow a person down/immobilize them until enough seekers are present to generate the field.

But isn't that chick right next to them...Lilith I believe isn't she captured? She wasn't far away from the VS at all.

Yeah, I think the freezing effect only lasts as long as the ship is groundside. That said, Bioware should have made them seem a little more out of breath.

And to the haters: So you expect your friend/lover to approve of you once you start working for a domestic terrorist organisation? I call BS on you. Ashley/Kaidan showed loyalty to the uniform, and to the cause. They have earned my trust to fight with me against the Reapers, as I know they will not allow personal **** to get in the way of doing their job.

Yeah, but so what? Look around Horizon: you see packed coffins next to empty ones and then a short distance away, people just standing in the open.

"Oh wa wa an NPC did something other then bend over and lick my feet in awe and worship, totally traitors!"

Seriously, grow up. You had returned from the grave and had sided with Cerberus, an army considered the enemy of the Alliance. That is classified as a betrayal regardless of what justification you give it. The VS couldn't just abandon their loyalty to the Alliance to join a terrorist organization, and they had every right to be concerned about seeing you working for one.

Expecting them to get over the shock of seeing you alive, the grief associated with your death, the general reputation of Cerberus and their sworn loyalty to the Alliance is not asking for 'loyalty'. It's asking for them to be your doormat.
And don't talk about Tali and Garrus being able to do it. Not everyone can respond to the same situation the same way, and given that the VS had already been given reports labelling Cerberus as being in some way responsible for the missing colonies and Shepard assisting them in doing so, they had somewhat a justified reason to be suspicious.

Not all NPC's have to bend over backwards to please you one hundred percent of the time because to them making you feel all important and special is the only thing that matters in the world.
Get over it you egotistical cry babies.

And in case you were about to reply to me, don't bother, I've heard it all a million times before. I couldn't care less what you think.

There see, I can be arrogant stuck up and obnoxious too.

Okay anyway:

Possibly a combination of better armor, the Collectors saving the bait for last, good timing on Shepard's part and the fact that it takes time to effectively finish a 'collecting' especially if there are people who are shooting at you.
Well, that and luck.

It wasn't Shepard's choice. We weren't allowed to explain ourselves properly and plus we were DEAD for two years. Sevearal times in fiction heroes & villians have teamed up to stop a major threat. Hell I bet Chruchill & Hitler would join forces to stop the evil Eldritch Abomination from destroying all reality

Not to mention HUMAN colonies were being abducted and the Alliance was doing squat.
What's the matter Kaidan/Ashley? Why don't you call Uncle Hackett & make the big bad Collectors go away?
Did you forget about the Reapers? Vigil? My god TALI joined up despite the fact that she was a Jew to the Cerberus ****'s

Tali and Garrus might disagree.

VS didnt even take the time to LISTEN to Shep. their mind was made up...and nothing was gonna change that. Hell...Shep aint working FOR them. he was working WITH them. And the Non-Humans and several of the humans werent working for Cerberus...they were working for SHEP!

when everyone else left the alliance because they did not approve of the alliance peeing all over Shep's memories...VS was the only that stayed. They didnt care bout Shep. Being with Shep was just another assignment. even worse if they were LI.

nah..nah.... only way i would like them in ME3 is if Bioware 1) made them bad guys 2) made for extremely uncomfortable conversations.

Everything aint cool VS...not with my Sheps
