Okay! A few apologies, some self-recrimination and we're all ready to go kick Reaper Arse! That's what I'm talking about!
i can live with that...but for the sake of appeasement...i hope Bioware makes it happen in more than one conversation.. and makes some of us HATERS feel uncomfortable about things...were it takes alil time.
oh and no spectre stuff!....not until late in ME3 anywho....if at all.
That sounds acceptable to me. A one conversation fix would be terrible. Unless they did something epic, like breaking you out of the courtroom.
I heard that in DA2, you can make one or two of your squadmates Grey Wardens. Would like to see something like that in ME3, particularly with Ash and Garrus.
I would make Garrus a Spectre over the VS every time.
My justification, "Kaidan/Ashley, the day you start thinking with your brain rather than your heart is the day you earn the right to become a Spectre. The day you are willing to make sacrifices to do the right thing is the day you earn the right to call yourself a Spectre. Garrus has done all this and much more."
God damn I want this dialogue in ME 3. No huggy, kissy stuff!

They did think with their brain. A romanced VS, giving in to their heart would have gone with Shepard everyday. From their perspective, the right thing was regrouping with Anderson/Hackett, and refitting to go back out against the Collectors. They know not to let past feelings get in the way of duty.
Garrus on the other hand, tracked down and murdered/attempted to murder Dr. Saleon and Sidonis. Garrus thinks with his heart and his honour, that's why we love him so much. All things considered, he's much more emotional than the VS.

You had returned from the grave and had sided with Cerberus, an army considered the enemy of the Alliance. That is classified as a betrayal regardless of what justification you give it. The VS couldn't just abandon their loyalty to the Alliance to join a terrorist organization, and they had every right to be concerned about seeing you working for one.
Maybe in your game your Shep is the enemy of Alliance etc. In my game Shep always reports to council first, even before going to Omega and then goes and speaks to journalist. So, in my game by the time of Horizon everyone, even minor NPCs from the first game know that Shep is alive. Also, Shep is the Spectre again and has a permission from the council to continue investigation in the Terminus Systems and they don't seem to mind Shep working with Cerberus. In my eyes, it makes Shep undercover agent, not terrorist, but VS somehow still has that 'holier than thou' attitude.
Maybe the Citadel should have been locked up until Horizon, so Shepard's return was still a rumor from Omega, nothing more. But after talk to the Council, after TV-interview, after getting bunch of letters from people all over the galaxy (Kate Boweman from Terra Nova, Samesh Bhatia from the Earth, etc) that indicate that Shepard's return is a wide-known fact, there's no excuse for VS not to know that Shepard is alive. And if VS had at least the bit of brain, they would wonder why Shep was not arrested on the Citadel if s/he is considered a terrorist and maybe come to conclusion that the story is not that simple.
Yes, it's sloppy writing which doesn't take this fact into account at all, but it still makes VS loooks like raving idiot who never bothers to even listen to news or ask Shepard himself/herself. Or maybe it is not a sloppy writing, but direct intent to make players angry with VS, I don't know. I only hope I will have a chance to call VS an idiot in ME3.

I'm a bit angry at Hackett as well. During Arrival I wanted to go, "Listen! I know for a fact that you consider me the son/daughter you never had and treat me with utmost respect. WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I WAS FIGHTING THE COLLECTORS!!! OMG! What about those Corsair guys who do all the Black Ops stuff?"

To be fair, if you do Arrival before the SM, Hackett says that he's dispatched battle groups to engage the Collectors, but he's lost a lot of ships and doesn't have enough to cover all the colonies.

thats rather harsh dont you think? i mean...it's only a game and it is available. why cant we play a character and do and say things we wouldnt normally do, yet still not be considered a control freak because we feel like we are getting crapped on IRL.
i mean...i usually play females when they are available in games and if it is available i pick the female love interest/romance...does that mean i wish i was a woman..and a lesbian?
...my main in ME is a paragon femshep soldier with Liara a LI

Besides, while they are staying with the Alliance, they also take orders from Anderson. Hell, talk to Anderson after Horizon he'll say that Ashley/Kaidan have actually tried to find evidence to show to the Council to prove the Reapers exist and have just so far been unsuccessful.
Don't you see? By staying with the Alliance they aren't against Shepard. They are the only ones still fighting for the lost cause to try to prove the existence of the Reapers to the Council, the only ones who did. Everyone else just gave up, leaving them alone to pick up the pieces.
to the bolded part: Really? I had a feeling that was true, and someone was saying the VS never defended you. That would have been most useful information in a previous thread.

It is worth remembering that according to Ashley (I'm going to keep using Ashley as an example as she's my VS and it's easier than referring to two people as one) she had tried to talk to Anderson about Shepard she had been stone walled. I.E even if you did report to the Council before Horizon, she wasn't told about it and didn't know more than what was reported.
So in essence she was still left out of the loop and in the dark.
Maybe the Citadel should have been locked up until Horizon, so Shepard's return was still a rumor from Omega, nothing more. I think that what you've found here is a plot hole. There's no way civilians should be able to know that Shepard's alive, nor for that matter know the email address of someone they only interacted with very briefly.
Yes, it's sloppy writing which doesn't take this fact into account at all, but it still makes VS loooks like raving idiot who never bothers to even listen to news or ask Shepard himself/herself. Only fair if the VS is in turn allowed to call Shepard an idiot for his/her wooden emotionless bone headed responses on Horizon in the first place.
He sees his grieve stricken former lover return with a look of pain and anguish on her face after having spent two years alone bound to the pain of losing someone she loved. Sadly she walks towards him and tenderly embraces him and in a voice that almost sounds like she's about to burst into tears says 'I thought you were dead, Shepard... we all did.'
He then opens his mouth to say
"It's been to long Ash, how ya' been?"
With a stupid grin.
Nice Shepard, real nice.

Don't really have a link because it's not a common video to find:
Essentially Anderson tells Shepard that the report sent from the VS on Horizon actually confirmed Shepard's story as true and that unfortunatley while they tried the VS was unable to find any evidence to link the Collectors to the Reapers or even that the Reapers exist. Or at least nothing to convince the Council, which also implies some thought of trying to do so was involved.
It's not spoken boldly but it's all there in the subtext. They confirmed your story and they tried to find evidence to show to the Council to prove the existence of the Reapers and just weren't able to find anything. Not perfect but it's a start.
Closest I can get is a reference on the Mass Effect wiki:
'Anderson also reveals that even though he still does not trust Cerberus,
Williams/Alenko's report on Horizon confirmed Shepard's story about the
Collectors being the real source behind the missing human colonists.
Anderson also mentions that Williams/Alenko did not find any evidence to
convince the Council the Reapers exist.'
So yeah not much but not bad either.

there is only so much he can take!

THIS is the internet! it would be EXTREMELY SILLY to take things personal. a**hats are okay once in awhile. and it is counter productive to agrue with someone who most likely has their mind made up about something and decides to voice that opinion... especially concerning fiction that has been presented in a way that has made it a subjective experience. it be an opinion..nothing more.
