Synth =/= Star Wars or Firefly.

So you should retract that argument.

I'll let it stand. Your opinion doesn't make it any different. Thanks for coming out.

Synth = Blade Runner

Star Wars = Orchestral
Firefly = Acoustic/Bluegrass

Mass Effect 1 = Synth
Mass Effect 2 = 50/50 Synth/Orchestral

Random: who did the music for Kasumi DLC? Wasn't it someone different?

Actually in ME1, the Presidium theme was orchestral and it was one of my favorite.

I noticed that one of the main complaints around here with Mansell's work is that it is dark and depressing. Last I checked this is suppose to be a pretty dark and depressing game.

Reapers are taking over the entire galaxy, multiple species are on the break of a galactic civil war, the earth is being overrun with reapers, with something like 11 million people being killed in one week.

I think a dramatic orchestrated sound is more appropriate than a electronic theme for this game.

Actually Mass Effect 2 is 0% orchestral. There was some orchestral sounding music but they used a virtual orchestra for that.

Way to completely and totally miss the point. :)

I, personally, am worried about music continuity since I haven't heard any synth related music by Clint. (If someone has examples, by all means, show us). I have no doubts about the quality of Clint's musical talent, but most of the music I've heard by him is very somber. I haven't heard an outright epic song suited to the climactic style that supposedly is ME3.

Let's see how well he can adapt, shall we?

I agree that a little bit of change isn't so bad but I still worry that it won't have that same distinction that Mass Effect 1 and 2 had, and no body has shown me any examples of Clint Mansell's music that sounds similar to Mass Effect 1 or 2 (I listened to some of the music from Moon but I don't think thats what I'm looking for)

I trust though that Clint knows what he's doing and Bioware know what they are doing though
