I'm a lvl 10 mage and I'm trying to defeat a dragon in the deep roads. What the best way to take the guy down?

Go to the Chantry first and request a blessing from Grand Cleric Elthina.

Gives you a + 25 morale boost, handy on taking down High Dragons (Bone Pitt).

He's talking about the deep roads dragon. I suggest hitting it really hard, with icey stuff, combined with tactically running away.

That dragon was tough for me. I think my char only survived because of the bug that continuously healed him after resurrection.

I prefer a rocket launcher when dealing with dragons.

But for the deep roads one, have your mages do ice attacks while your tank runs it around. I didn't have a warrior on my run, so I kept it busy with my Duelist taunt (since I'm a rogue) while Varric, Bethany and Anders hammered it with crossbow bolts and ice attacks. (an Ice damage staff if you don't have ice spells will help)

use cold attack and some entropy spell, spirit attack, get many fire-resistance items. Good luck

ranged attacks, keep your party spread out, like surrounding the dragon but not close to the dragon. The dragon is a pretty dumb enemy on this game so you shouldnt have too much trouble.

That's what I was going to say.  At least two ranged fighters, one of whom should also be a healer.  Rogues are good because they can use evade/shadow to lose the attacker.

Check the gameplay forum or on youtube, there was a "challenge" to make the fastest kill of that dragon. There's a few videos taking less than 1 minute to kill it.
