I have this image of someone playing Oblivion whilst being baked:
"OHHH MY GOD! IT'S STAR TREK!" (Starts laughing)
-5 minutes later, king is assassinated-
(Stares at screen blankly)

Why the universe couldn't wait 3 more days to give me a roaring fever I will never know, but I shall certainly hold it against it for many years to come.
On the plus side, the Honey Mead i've been brewing for the past 8 months should be good to go.

I'll probably only be able to play in school hours - once my 16yr old gets home he will demand his turn. He's been giving me a daily countdown for the last 3 weeks. I'm seriously thinking of buying another copy so that we can both play at the same time. I will probably pull a few all nighters until I get through the first playthrough (16yr old has to go to bed, but I don't). Unfortunately I will have to stop for meal breaks as I have 2 teenage boys who will demand to be fed, but I may spend the week cooking & freezing meals so that all they are prepared for a few days.
I'm sure your boys will understand, as fellow gamers. But seriously, it's awesome that both you and your son enjoy RPGs and play them at the same time.
So I'm sitting around with my usual late-night snack of a bowl of cereal, unable to shake the feeling that I've forgotten something. I get up to fetch my sleepwear from the closet and realize: I forgot today was laundry day.
Real life is already starting to become irrelevant. >_< Must be sure not to make the same mistake next week...

Research, start and finish a tens of thousands of words dissertation.
Do something amazingly nice for my significant other so that she'll not be so bothered that I am paying zero attention to her once dragon age comes out. With luck some new stuff will happen on WoW for her. That will keep her busy. Silly MMO-players.
Buy 47 bottles of pepsi, delicious caffine will keep me going through the wee hours of the morning.
Eat 12 meals and brush teeth 30 times on the day before. I will have no time for such trivial things.
Take a 48 hour nap. Or is that a coma?
Fake my own death.
That should just about cover most eventualities...

First thing I checked, "Am I working on Nov. 3?... No! I'm off till Saturday!! Yes!!!!"
Then I look again "Why is the 3, 4, and 5 of November shaded in orange?"
Mandatory staff meetings all day for three days~

In the same vein, what have you done to mitigate the wife/gf/husband/bf's anger regarding the amount of time you aren't spending with them?
I volunteered to be the DD for her friend's bachelorette party.....
Wow way to take an anti-man grenade for DO:A. I am only dating at the moment. So my reasoning is simple. "Oh, I'm sorry work has been crazy lately and I needed to get some rest. I should have called you back." Little does she know that I have actually taken 2 days of vacation to remove myself from the real-world.
Lying is bad, sir. Remember your karma!
