I started playing a warrior (first time) and in the first area (after the initial fantasy), it seemed like he had a sort of charge animation/abilty before engaging a new enemy a distance away (not talking about sythe). I'm going to use this guy as a tank, so he's going sword and shield. Now that I'm in Kirkwall, he seems to have lost the charge.
It wouldn't really matter to me, besides the coolness factor, it also seemed to get Hawke to the enemy faster which is the main reason why I'm wondering what happened to it.
Am I crazy? Does the warrior actually have a short burst like effect that takes them to their enemy faster? If so, why did it stop? What are the mechanics behind it that make it initiate?
Thanks for the help.

Perhaps you have Shield Defense active? That one disables the closing attacks (the rushes toward enemies you describe).
Both rogues and warriors have closing attacks, they were designed to reduce the slow "shuffling" towards the enemy like in DA:O.

I think you might of took off auto attack, the charge only happens with auto attack off.

Like Sabotin said above..If you have Shield Defense active, it Negates the closing sequence of a warrior..period.
