Hello

I was just wondering about this.

It seems to me that the 'titles?' Serah and Messere are thrown aound rather randomly, so i just wanted to ask: When are a person Serah and when a Messere?

In DA:O it was always 'Ser,' this is now only used about templars. Image IPB

Both are gender-neutral modes of address used in the free marches.

Cheers.

In Origins, 'Ser' was for anyone who had been knighted. Whether a Templar or a soldier in an army. Hawke wouldn't be a 'ser' because of his civilian status. (Ser Gorim from Aeducan origins)

As for Serah and Messere, I noticed that when you are of equal standing, or of a slightly lower one, you are referred to that way (the Arishok and the Viscount) and Messere is when you are of a higher rank in the social ladder (Boddahn being Hawke's manservant, lowerclass citizens.)

I may be wrong, that's just my personal observations. But you're welcome.

Yeah, it's to do with the social ladder and whether or not someone is of higher or lower standing.
(I spelt serah wrong in my username; what an embarassing typo. T___T)
