Did you kill them in the Deep Roads, or did they become a Grey Warden, or join the Templars/Circle?

Carver became a Warden. On my aborted pro-templar run, Bethany became a Warden. On my stalled pro-mage run, Bethany joined the Circle.

I aborted the pro-templar run because I can't finish an Anders rivalry romance until the next patch is out. My third playthrough stalled because I lost interest during Act 3.

on my first run i left bethany in kirkwall for the deep roads, she went into the circle, at the end i prevented meredith from killing her (i thought this was the most meaningful route)

on my second run i did the same except this time just to see what happens i sided with meredith against bethany which was lame

on my third run i brought carver who became a grey warden because i had anders with me, i let him rejoin me during the rebellion in act 3 as my party's tank

So far:

1) First run, Bethany became a Warden.

2) Second run, Carver joined the Templars.

3) Third run, Bethany joined the Circle.

I still have to get Carver into the Wardens, probably during my next game. Taking them down there without Anders along is probably one of those things I'll never do - like killing Dog in DAO. It makes me sad and it doesn't seem like it would add anything interesting to to the game. It's not as though Hawke doesn't have enough dead family members to angst about as it is.

Bethany became a warden. But only for the best of reasons. Like getting a much nicer outfit.

 On first run Bethanny was taken to Circle, on second Bethany died at DeepRoads.. and both times I lost the most important thing to me... Staff of Parlantha!

Same here, though I have to say it gives the Deep Roads a lot more dramatic heft.

I can't imagine a lot of people made Carver a Warden without knowing how to do it ahead of time. Doing so requires a party of Mage Hawke, Anders, Carver, and Varric. How many people just happen to choose that particular combination?

The first time I left Bethnay at home so she joined the Circle.

On my second playthrough I took her with me, mistakenly thinking that she would always become a Grey Warden if you take her. I took Isabella with me, so she died. So I reloaded and took Anders with me this time.

Carver always dies at the ogre.  Always.  Thanks, Dragon Age Nexus.  

Bethany always goes to the Circle.  Both choices suck for her, but I definitely think the Circle sucks less given that a) she'll be out in a few years when Hawke rampages through the RoA, she says she has a new purpose (freeing her fellow mages) and that being in the Gallows opened her eyes, c) she hates being a Warden and is going to die young as one.

Personally, I always like it when Carver becomes a Grey Warden because:
1. I don't want him to be a Templar when I'm Mage
2. Better story
3. He rejoins your party later
4. He finds the sense of purpose he's looking for

Given what some people have said about Bethany I clicked on this topic with some trepidation.

First run, warrior Hawke left Bethany behind and she went to the circle.
Second run, rogue Hawke took Bethany to the Deep Roads with Anders and she became a Grey Warden.
Third run, mage Hawke left Carver behind and he became a templar.

I'll probably try a mage playthrough where Carver becomes a Grey Warden but any other playthroughs I have will probably send Bethany to the circle as I feel it gives the decision between templars and mages a bit more weight with her there rather than with the Wardens.

Bethany joined the Circle of Kirkwall when Cullen repaid Hawke saving his life from a possessed templar by arresting his sister.

If they die, your LI/BFF gets kidnapped in Act 3.

Fourth playthrough: Carver Warden.

There's a mod for that now? I thought you had to fiddle around with the console.

Pro-Templar Playthrough: Let Bethany die in Deep Roads

Any other playthrough: Bethany joins the Circle, Carver joins the Wardens.

Second run: 

Bethany became a Grey Warden

Third run: Carver died in the DR

Fourth run:

Bethany joined the Circle & lived

Fifth run: 

Bethany died in the DR

Sixth run:

Carver became a Grey Warden
