Pro-Templar Playthrough: Let Bethany die in Deep Roads

Any other playthrough: Bethany joins the Circle, Carver joins the Wardens.

You actually gave that spoiled brat the honor of being a Grey Warden?!Image IPB

I was considering his best interests.

Has nothing to do with inflicting a now shorter life full of darkspawn nightmares onto him out of revenge, I swear.

My first playthrough Carver became a templar. Subsequently, I tried out the other options except death in the deep roads.

I think having a sibling in the tower, whether as Circle Mage or Templar, adds more to the story by giving Hawke more of a stake in the central conflict. Maybe the Grey Warden connection will become important later, though.

They usually become Grey Wardens. Occasionally Bethany goes to the Circle, and once Carver became a templar. Once, Bethany died, because I didn't realise Anders *had* to be in your party to save the sibling.

If I was going to play from a meta-game POV, then Bethany would end up in the Circle more often because I know she's happier there, but most of my Hawkes tend to believe that Bethany/Carver will be fine in the Deep Roads with them and decides to bring them along - Carver because he's desperate for glory and Bethany to make sure templars don't get her whilst Hawke's out.

Well, I took Bethany out back and started to whisper in her ear and gently stroke her face...

oh you meant in the Deep Roads! Oh yea! No there's no wincest going on hereImage IPB. I made her a Grey Warden.

NOTE: I don't approve of wincest, just wanted to make a joke Image IPB

First run: Bethany became a warden
Second run: Carver became a warden

Not much variety there.

First, Bethany circle, could not bare the obvious peril that was implied.
Second, Carver templar.
Third, Carver death.
fourth - fifth Bethany circle.
Sixth or so Carver Warden.
Last Bethany wardens.

In my first time through I had no idea siblings could be spared from dying in the Deep Roads. So poor Carver died. I was very bummed.

Same here, though I have to say it gives the Deep Roads a lot more dramatic heft.

I can't imagine a lot of people made Carver a Warden without knowing how to do it ahead of time. Doing so requires a party of Mage Hawke, Anders, Carver, and Varric. How many people just happen to choose that particular combination?

Me. I was playing a mage who was falling in love with Anders, was BFF with Varric, and brought Carver along a lot of the time because family is family.

Third time, I had Meredith execute Bethany. I was playing a real templar fanatic.

The other two I made her a Gray Warden.

Can't bear myself ot play a mage this game, so never saw Carver's angle.

I only played mage once, and Carver became a Grey Warden... purely by accident, since I had no idea having Anders in the party would matter.

Every other game was as a warrior... Bethany usually becomes a Grey Warden, though sometimes I let her die in the Deep Roads. In my games, she's never gone to the Circle.

I like the Warden option the best.

Carver always dies at the ogre.  Always.  Thanks, Dragon Age Nexus.  :)

There's a mod for that now? I thought you had to fiddle around with the console.

Sure is.  http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2140  Enjoy.  I know I did hehe.

You know, technically, it's not "wrong" as long as you're not doing anything that results in any little web-footed children.  ...  I should probably stop talking now.

Yeah, I figured that was the most likely scenario.

With my seven games Carver has been a Templar twice and Bethany has been a circle mage once. On the remaining four games they have become Grey Wardens.

Canon will probably have Carver as a Warden but honestly my fave is having Bethany executed.

First run as a Mage, Carver became a Templar. Second run as a Warrior, Bethany was taken to the Circle, but at the end she joined me.

On different runs:
- Carver became Templar
- Carver died in Deep Roads
- Bethany became Warden
- Bethany killed by Meredith.

If I can find to will to return playing DA 2 I want to make Carver a Warden.

My favorite so far is letting Meredith kill Bethany. Much better than ogre smash.

Bethany died in the deep roads. Hawke didn't seem too upset about it really.

Same here. Even if I hadn't been romancing Anders, it just seemed sensible to take a former Warden into the Deep Roads with me. Turned out to be a wise decision.
