After the latest news, are you still worried of Earth being "special"?

Let's try not to forget the countless threads asking for the final battle to be on Earth in the past.

And as it has already been said, it makes sense to be the last to be reclaimed, as it is the first to be lost.

It makes perfect sense for the Earth to be special. Remember what Casey Hudson said in the very first Mass Effect 1 trailer? "You are Commander Shepard. The tip of the spear of humanity on the galactic stage."

I bet we won't even be on earth much until the very end of the game.
^ This. Those people who're worried about us being stuck on Earth are just looking for something to worry about.

I don't think anyone's arguing that it doesn't make sense, but that it's cliched :/
Proper execution makes you remember why people fell in love with it before it became cliche.

My question is why do we have to re-take Earth?
The greatest things about ME1 was the notion that we are just a small/new species and a much larger galactic community. Earth and it's culture seemed like nothing in comparison to the rest of the Galaxy. So why do we have to "re-take Earth back" in ME3? Why does the focus have to be on Earth? I thought Bioware would have been a bit more creative because didn't I already retake Earth back in Halo 3? I mean how many times are we going to go down the same road of playing as a Space Marine who saves Earth from galactic invaders?
I wanted there to be battles on Earth, but never did I want the final battle to be on Earth. To tell you the truth, I would rather have the final fight/battle take place on the Reaper's main base/fleet of operations. I want to take the fight to them!
As a symbolic gesture that for the first time the cycle has been broken. Considering the invasion is starting with earth, it makes absolute sense for the battle to end there.
And there is no reaper main base. They hibernate in dark space until they are ready to harvest again. They have no real "home" that has been hinted at so far. There could be one, but I doubt it.
I just believe it is a little too cheesy for Earth to be the mainstage of the Reaper battle. I expected more from Bioware....

But it's not. The galaxy is the mainstage of the reaper battle. Earth is only one small part. But because earth is the first to be taken, the symbolic nature of re-taking the first planet conquered is similar to say the threat is over.
I mean, they could have started the invasion with another planet, but it would have cheapened your earlier decisions. Because the image YOU have given for humanity (Either willing to be one small part of a whole or ruthless and out for human power) will be tested. Humans are the first attacked now...why should the galaxy help humanity?
If they started with a more veteran Citadel race I feel it would have somewhat cheapened the tension and drama of the story.

A similar idea is employed in Halo lore: The colony of Harvest was the first to be attacked by the Covenant. However, it was also the first to be retaken, and 27 or so years later was when Earth was finally attacked-- as the final human world to be attacked in the Human-Covenant War.

I think it ending on Earth is perfect. Like previously stated, it was the first to be taken, it has to be the last to be reclaimed.
Let's look back at ME1, your Spectre induction happens at the presidium, effectively when the real hunt for Saren begins.
Where does it end? That's right, the Presidium.
It's poetic, and good storytelling.

Bioware is a human company. If it were a Turian gaming company, we would be playing Turian Shepard saving Palaven.
It's like: "why is everything in the Citadel written in human English?"
