Running Dragon Age 2 Collectors set.

In order to actually 'hear' voices I must set my computers volume control as much as 3 times that
of Mass Effect 1 & 2.Posted Image

Game Dialogue Volume is at 9.

Of course the Sound Effects Volume must drop to a level 6.

And Muscic Volume is at 6.

Even a these setting at times, Dialogue will blast out at me, as if the volume controls are loused up.

Can or will, some kind person please assist this 82 year old in correcting tis problem?

Many Thanks for any assist.

Right, I'm having audio issues as well and I'm playing on a PC. I can blame it partly on my on board audio which I rarely do, but for the most part, any changes in my audio settings don't seem to make much difference. There is quite a bit of dialogue that I barely hear and much of the ambient sound is way too loud. In many cases, I can't hear what a character is saying at all, it has a soft echo to it and that's about all. I am not set up for multi- channel sound on this system, just an external stereo speaker system and my settings are set for that, other wise, I'd say I was hearing some multi-channel cross talk from  another channel. Damned if I can figure it out, it is either too loud or too soft and I haven't been able to find a good setting yet. Some of the cut scenes damn near blow me out of my chair...lol.  :crying:

This seems to me like issues with 5.1 surround, getting a rear left/right signal in stereo rather than a mix Centre, Left, Right. Have you double checked your cabling on your motherboards with what your sound driver says the jacks are for? Have you tried using the other jacks available to check if they are wired properly? (I've had some cheaper motherboards reverse channels and all sorts of good stuff.) Have you tried forcing the game to run in forced stereo mode in the configuration utility? accessed from the Dragon Age: Origins / 2 Launcher.

I play games on my audio/work pc and DA:O and 2 have their sound effects mixed very loudly by default. But try some of the above and see if anything works.
