Why Merrill needs to die in DA3

Other than that, it annoyed me immensely that you couldn't influence the outcome of her companion quests at all (except by not doing them at all) - I really wish you had a similar option at the end of her Act 3 quest as the 'Anders option'...

And Bioware must do Baldurs Gate 3 and kill Aeri.

Only reason it's a good "educated guess" at this point is because they're already commited to a "voiced" protagonist (which I personally enjoyed as well as I enjoyed DA2). For them to bring the warden back, that would mean they'd have to go back to the "voiceless" protagonist again and it's pretty clear at this point that it's not going to happen any time soon. As far as the second half of my post on companion conversations, thats actually already fact. Wish I remembered where I saw that thread with the link on that.
As far as DA3 being "bad" because of that; That's your opinion and you're welcomed to it. I dont agree with you, but I understand where you're coming from none the less.
Taking the VO out, I'm just saying if the next DA game follows this path, its not a game for me. I already play a game like that and its called Mass Effect.
Well, get ready to not play DA3 then because I can promise you that they will NOT take away the voiced protagonist. Nevermind that there is a high probability that you're not getting your warden back either. You're pretty much guaranteed to either A.) Play Hawke again for DA3 or B.) A new voiced protagonist for DA3.

They used the "the game isn't about one character, it's about the world" excuse as to why the warden wasn't returning, so they better as hell not make Hawke be the main character again.
Not that they haven't lied about pretty much everything else leading up to this game, mind you.

Regardless, dont let that give you false hope that you're getting your warden and/or voiceless protag back. Couple that with the guarantee that companion interaction in DA3 is going to more or less like DA2, (if indeed DA3 is given the green light. Which IMO, is just a matter of time before it is.) then that pretty much means that there's alot of you that arent even going to play it.
Me personally, I'll only be renting it and not buying it. Simply put, because although I liked DA2, it just really wasnt "buy" worthy. Just like Origins wasnt buy worthy IMO. Should have rented both honestly. Wont make that mistake for DA3.

*shrugs* Oh well, it's become quite humorous at this point. My point is, kill whatever character in whatever game you like, because in BWland, characters can be resurrected on a whim with no other reason or rhyme save some bullspit religious garbage.

I didn`t like how Merrill was forced into my party. I want my character to pick his own companionsfriends. But yeah, her blood-mage business should (most likely) end with her croaking.
Really? She was forced? Because I dont know about you but the only time anyone is "forced" into my party is when the quest Im currently on locks them in.

Varric was the only good character.
@Aradace. I meant disregarding the VO as in not including it in my argument. Its not that big of a deal, while I prefer non VO, I can live with a VO. For the rest of the game I was saying if the next DA follows that path, I won't buy it.

I had this discussion with my husband, who pointed out that she is a Keeper. As such she shouldn't be that naive about humans and their culture. While many Dalish in the clans have nothing to do with Shem, and only a select few do to keep the 'contamination' from Shem to a minimum, Keepers are not in the former category I don't think. Hence Marethari being on friendly terms with Duncan a human. As a Keeper I would think Merrill would be less naive, not more. I liked her, but it was a little over done, and she never really evolved in any signifigant way. Her going into private gardens I could see, but not her constant lack of knowledge about most basic things.
