Only reason it's a good "educated guess" at this point is because they're already commited to a "voiced" protagonist (which I personally enjoyed as well as I enjoyed DA2). For them to bring the warden back, that would mean they'd have to go back to the "voiceless" protagonist again and it's pretty clear at this point that it's not going to happen any time soon. As far as the second half of my post on companion conversations, thats actually already fact. Wish I remembered where I saw that thread with the link on that.
As far as DA3 being "bad" because of that; That's your opinion and you're welcomed to it. I dont agree with you, but I understand where you're coming from none the less.
I dont mind the voiced protagonist. It just wasn't done very well in DA2, and in my opinion doesn't fit well in the DA universe. I prefer the silent protagonist, mind you I have a pretty decent imagination, and can supply my own voice, and roleplay the way I want to. A voiced protagonist limits the immersion and role-play to me.
While I do understand that argument but lately I have found it a lot harder to play a silent protagonist in a talking world. I would rather play as a silent protagonist if there is no spoken dialoge in the game.
Having a silent protagonist in a talking world (without a reason to be silent) kills a lot of the immersion for me, it looks and sounds stupid. Now if you have a reason why the character can't talk and have a means where s/he can communicate with other characters I would be for it, but otherwise if everyone else can talk with a voice so should my character. And spare me the whole "well you co do the voice by reading the dialoge options" line. I'm a man and I can't do a woman's voice to save my life. I tried that when I was playing
DA:O and I realized doing that really hurt the immersion for me.
I didn't like the ME dialogue wheel, or the ME UI in DA2. The wave of enemies was stupid and poorly done. The combat while more balanced, was anime, on meth, and over the top animations. Not to mention the childish baloon bag body explosions. I would of preferred if they fixed/tweaked, sped up a little bit, the DA:O combat. I wasn't too fond of the skills/spells, I think there was more variety and fun with DA:O's.
I disagree with you 100% on this. I liked what Bioware did in
Dragon Age II in terms of dialoge wheel and the combat. It was the most fun BW game I played to date. It's not the greatest BW game but in terms of combat in was the most fun.
As too the topic on hand I liked Merrill and she great LI but I perfer Isabella.
