I loved DAO and really like DA2. Some things were better about DAO and some things were better about DA2. Instead of being negative we can put the things that were great about each one to make a "perfect" Dragon Age game. This is how the next DA should be:

Locations: Like DAO, lots of ares, towns and dungeons to explore. It must have long challenging classic style dungeons, with alot of secrets to find.

Battle System: DA2's battle system with finishing moves instead of exploding bodies. Make the enemy encounter like DAO though, no enemy waves.

Graphics: I prefer the graphics in DA2, but it should have the dark gritty atmosphere like DAO. Why not have some darkspawn that look like the old design, and some darkspawn look like the new design. Make everyone happy.

Skill Tree: DA2's skill tree was way better.

Story: A story structure like DAO. Even though stopping the ultimate evil is cliche, it was still epic.

Conversations: Like DA2 with a voiced emotional character, but have the wheel say what you will say or closer to it.

Companion Armor: I liked the idea of party members having their own look the whole game. It should be somewhere in the middle though. The next DA could have specific armor for party members.I want to upgrade their equipment but I want it to be armor only they can wear so they keep their look.

That's what I think would make the next DA great. Using things fans loved about DAO and DA2. What would you want from each game to be in the next DA?

I agree with most, except the skill tree.

I dislike only having 3-4 active skills and meleeing the rest of the time. It's quite lame.

And limiting weapons cross-class is ridiculous, aswell as making armor take two stats instead of one.

OK

-World that feels alive. Random npc behavior, weather, etc etc etc
-Itemization that feels as epic as it feels in Diablo, WoW. Seriously, make a piece of item INTERESTING. Even if its a trash item you can make it interesting by adding some silly text line or something. Come on you're supposed to be good at this B.
-Ability to dress companions
-Ability to speak to companions whenever I want even for stupid crap like asking their opinion on current situation or asking them what they know about certain zone where the player is currently at (Leliana in DAO did some of that)
-More complicated crafting system not mail order bull****. Blacksmithing, Alchemy, Poisons, Runesmithing, Tailoring, and let players be able to dye and reforge their stuff.
-Since you already went with this combat style then add more attack variations. A lot more. Seeing rogue constantly jump to one target after another looked absolutely retarded.
-Give us damn horses already (i know it aint happening but i just wanted to write it anyway)
-Balance the damn combat (rogue AI was bs)
-More bosses and more complicated fights. I don't care if you copy off WoW just make it HARD and COMPLEX! You started off good with your rock wraith but it was still half assed and could have been less boring.
-Bring back the player created traps and stealth that lasts until cancelled or spotted.
-Give players MORE CHOICES. DAII had very few of them and it sucked ass.
-Conversation wheel. Get rid of this crap. It's not mass effect. Randomize the text line order and let players READ and THINK on THEIR OWN about what certain choice could lead to.
-Calm the fk down on this DLC b/s. You're changing the whole meaning of DLC with the crappy content you're releasing B
-Make zones different. Its very boring seeing the same god damn cave, basement, house interior all the damn time. Cuts down on replayability value as well because people get too much of the same **** from first playthrough to even consider doing second.
-Work on your drama scenes. They all sucked big time. I felt WAAAAAAAAY more ..sad and touched when Ser Jory got stabbed, Davith didnt survive joining and Duncan got killed. Your scenes in DAII felt like the scene from Awakening where Mhairi dies during joining. I didn't give a damn about her just like I didnt give a damn about underdeveloped DAII characters.
-Achievements. Either make them harder to obtain (Starcraft II difficulty settings achievements) or get rid of this crap.
-Whoohoo sex scenes. Truly, your last great sex scene was in Mass Effect. After that, you just turned into a freakin tranquil mage when it comes to that.
-Make players be able to turn off corpse explosions or make some variation. (Don't use same ragdoll model for female explosion as the one you already use for male)
-Don't bring back characters if they are supposed to be dead in certain playthoughs (Leliana)
-Give us toolset
-Make attributes more complex, not just STR and CON if you're a warrior.
-Add some variation to your side quests. Enough with this FEDEX crap.
-Add factions to the game. Assassin guilds, Thieves guild, etc..

There is a loooooooooooooot more to add but here is the last one for now

-Pretty please... with sugar on top, don't rush the damn game.

(Copy and pasted from the other thread :D)

Agree with most of that, though I think they should pick one style of darkspawn and just stick with it, not go half and half. They'd still have to update the old darkspawn look graphically, though.

And companion armor, I'd prefer was handled like a mix between the way Morrigan's is implemented, and DA2's implementation. Each companion has unique, auto-leveling, upgrade-able armor, which can be swapped out for other armor sets if one so desires. Incidentally this solution probably requires more work on their part than any other, so... unlikely.
