Oh, I'm not debating the refurb habitats or the same caves on diff't planets, but they (UNC) felt more varied overall as compared to a lot of the N7 missions.

UNC missions felt more like being on the frontier of space than the Terminus systems did, that's for sure.

Yeah, I don't understand the hate towards ME2's plot.

No decent piece of fiction is a straight line. They all have sub-plots.

I very much enjoyed getting to know each of my squadmates.

ME2's plot is not inferior to ME1; it's just different. It's a more personal chapter.

ME2 doesn't *have* an overarching plot, even Casey has said so repeatedly, that "the characters *are* the story". So your enjoying to getting to know your squadmates was in fact the story for ME2.

Maybe that's because the Terminus isn't supposed to be "the frontier"?  They're just whatever the Citadel doesn't have sway over.

If the Terminus systems aren't 'the frontier', than where is it? Because the descriptions I've heard of it have included 'lawless, bands of pirates and slavers', which really fits my defnition of a frontier area.

Of course it does: building a team so you can hit the Omega-4 and, hopefully, stop the colony abductions.  And Hudson never said that it had no overarching plot. He simply meant that the focus is placed on the team building.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again

Where does this "team building" take place?  Most of the characters don't even acknowledge that Shepard's recruited anyone but them.  The DLC characters talk more about the other squadmates than anyone else.

A frontier is where people are pushing into and settling new territory. Like the Skyllian Verge in ME1.  Certainly, that happens in the Terminus, but that's not all the Terminus is.  It's just a label for a vast and disparate region that isn't under Citadel law. The Batarian Hegemony is part of the Terminus for instance, and in no way could you consider that "the frontier".  Omega isn't a frontier region either.  People have been there for ages. Ilium is technically in the Terminus too.  Many of the locations we visit in the Terminus have in fact been settled and/or used for quite a long time.

That's a problem you have with the execution.  It doesn't negate the fact that that is what the story is about.

I'm sorry but there are a lotta people here who have this "my opinion is better than your opinion because I'm a hardcore fanboy bla bla bla" and I gotta tell you that these threads of ME1 is better than ME2 are so useless and recycled that it really pisses me off

because all they generate is not debate,80% is blindfold fanatism "Bioware broke my game"crap.

I happen to like both games a lot, played fist ME1 when it came out on pc(so that the idiot with the "ahh you played me2 first comment can STFU) and loved it,loved everything, didn't mind the driving nor the mechanics of storage and ammo etc.. but I also loved ME2,Ok so I like ME1 more but that doesn't mean ME2 was crap nor does it mean that anyone who likes ME2 more is an idiot.

Everybody has diffrent tastes for different flavors so why don't these HC ME1 fans just let the rest of us who enjoy both games live and let play without having to see these kind of threads over and over

Ok you might have the freedom to post what you like but come on this is getting old

There is no team-building.  I don't know why people keep mentioning it as though they know what it means if the very thing they're talking about says there's no team-building there.  For good reference "Remember the Titans" is a beautiful example of what team-building should have been.  "Gridiron Gang" is another good example of team-building.  If by the end of an operation there is still a nay being uttered that is agreed with then there was no team building whatsoever.

Ok Op this idea that Mass Effect 1 was a great game is a myth . It was pathetic from a combat point of view and the graphics looked like PS1 graphics . Mass Effect 2 has better graphics and story as well game play . If ME 1 was suppose to be a mix of rpg and shooter games then it failed and was a disaster. No Mass Effect 2 crushes Mass Effect 1 and that is the cold hard truth deal with it

yeah but now it's not so much as where they listen or not(I think they do) but more if they LISTENED or NOT

Because let's face it this game is done, finished.basically being polished now, they're not going to change anything drastically.May be something small.I do believe ME3 will have some things ME1 fans will welcome but I also do believe this game will be closer to ME2 than ME1.

Anyways not looking foward to the millions of upcoming "ME1 was better than ME3" threads because let's face it to the HC fan of ME1 if they don't present them with something like ME1 with better graphics I don't think they will ever be pleased.

Those aren't the threads that will be flooding the forum. The ME1 fans have by and large moved on and no longer care about the trilogy. What you're going to see constantly is "what was the point of ME2 now that my old crew is gone and I'm out recruiting again?"

haha that was a problem I saw when I first finished me2 at the end.  There was no way they could bring everyone back if everyone could die.  but that's another debate....

Those guys? To whom are you referring?

I tend to believe that ME1 is better than ME2 in all the ways that matter to me, and I look forward with great delight to seeing all wailing and gnashing of teeth from ME2 fans about the lack of continuity between ME2 and ME3--which will be broken as it was broken in ME1 -> ME2 to cater to a new audience and gamer demographic.

Chud has said it numerous times. He believes the third and final chapter of a trilogy is an excellent time to focus on attracting new players.
