You didn't commit genocide in Arrival. You destroyed a 300k pop. colony.

Do people even know what the term "genocide" is?

Yeah,I have a feeling that husks will become mercenaries of ME3,and I don't like it because they are only fun enemies if you are Adept.

O_O ........ wel actually, commititing Genocide in Arrival may have been beneficial, I mean gthink about it, If the reapers had arrived in the Batarian system they'd already have an army of those fuukers to offload on various worlds, which reminds me, rumors are circulating that we'll visit The Asari, Salarian AND Turian homeworlds, is that true?(I'm probably wrong though, I mean Thessia could easily be mistaken for Illium, Going to Pavalen would require inventing Turian females which Bioware apparently think will be Garrus+ Lipstick and I don't even KNOW where the Salarian homeworld is)

Palavan and the salarian homeworlds are confirmed to be in ME3. Thessia is mentioned in the confirmed features thread but it's source strangely enough makes no mention of it, for me, Thessia remains unconfirmed.
Actually, anything that's not in gameinformer is just speculation rather than confirmation to me, because there's just way too many lame rumours circulating these forums. Wish I could go into cryo freezing and unfreeze myself the day before ME3 came out... *Sigh*

Yeah,I have a feeling that husks will become mercenaries of ME3,and I don't like it because they are only fun enemies if you are Adept.

With a combat overhaul, introduction of proper melee combat and making ME3 more difficult than ME2, fighting all kinds of husks is bound to be more interesting than it was in ME2.

I do know what genocide is, but for efficiency, which phrase rolls off the tongue better'I commited genocide'

or

'I indirectly killed 300,000 Batarians in the system along with the millions of other Batarians in the neighbouring systems'

Take your pick /rant.

What's the big deal about fighting husks?  Max out lift and push.  If you're not biotic, make sure you have a biotic in your group.  Problem solved.

I'm looking forward to them! ;)
Will be interesting to see how my two favourite methods (shoot+pull for adept/vanguard, and of course widow nutshots) work or the possibility of adapting to new methods.

No, it's not. Genocide is the purposeful intent of wiping out an entire species/race.

gen·o·cide   /ˈdʒɛnImage IPBəˌsaɪd/ Image IPB Image IPBShow IPA–noun the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.

A 300k colony does, however, qualify as mass murder, or more accurately in Arrival's scenario, mass manslaughter.

Could just call it mass murder, which would be accurate.

We'll see how the multitude of husks are implemented, but yes, I am really burned out on shooting zombies. It seems every game has to have zombies, and apparently the way to make a game even better is to add 5 x's the number of zombies!

Well what the hell do you expect to do shoot at 2km reapers?

They aren't the only enemies anyway.

hate is a strong word to use but here i go i hate the husks, they are good coming in groups of one to six but when you have waves of about 8 or more coming at you it gets tireing and back up in to groups that spawn behind you. in mass effect 2 those missions take forever enless you run through shot gun blazing to get to next section or getting surrounded to bad i don't do that often. i preffer soldier and have never realy gotten around to playing anyother class

Flashbang grenades insta-kills husks. And they have the largest blast radius of all powers. The husks aren't that big of a problem if you know what you're doing.

When they circle you, unless you're playing a Vanguard, it's usually over.

For me, at least.

Yeah, they can very quickly overrun your teams postion which is why the Arc Projector is usually my heavy weapon of choice. It will either kill all of them with a single pull of the trigger, or stun and damage them all enough to get away from them.

Incinirate evolved to Incineration Blast. Kills every husk with one hit.

Or go with Inferno Ammo. Kills them rather quick.

I actually hope that more of the new husks will have barriers to protect them, because I find normal husks to be so easy to deal with.

The only thing I didn't like about the husks was the ME2 rise out of the ground like a zombie thing. I could accept them being zombie things when they came off the spikes. But digging them selves out of the ground just took the zombie thing a bit too far, especially lame when they dug through steel floors.

Other than that, I like the swarm of melee harassing types to get you out of cover and to change up game play.

Maybe that colony was a distinct cultural group of Batarians. :)

Pick a side, pick genocide.

I guess you never played with Engineer.

I'm currently doing an engineer playthrough and dealing with husks isn't very fun.

drone gets their attention just fine, and incinerate strips them of all their defenses, and if you are adverse to using squadmates you can finish them with cryo.  But usually its just drone to get them in a nice juicy pack, incinerate to strip all the defenses, area pull/throw/concussive shot from a squad mate.
