Technically, Shepard is dead. Two years and his brain would have been beyond hope of repair, after 6 minutes without oxygen and brain damage is permanent. Even if Cerberus were able to rebuild the actual brain, there is no way they could rebuild his actual memories, his sense of self. My guess is his "brain" is a cybernetic mechanism programmed with as much detail of Shepard's life as possible.

Could that be why he doesn't remember Fist?

Shepard, for all we know, isn't even Human anymore. I even doubt it's really the Shepard from ME1 given how he was DEAD! Frigging DEAD! You can't bring a person back to life with science! It's not impossible, it's goddamn crazy!

Okay, good, I got that out of my system. Now to the task at hand. Shepard was found dead, rebuild, and then revived by unknown means BW is too lazy to come up with. I even had to make my own excuse to sleep better at night (see sig). Shepard isn't human anymore, that's my prorogative. I also estimate that Shepard (M/F) is also infertile and unable to have kids due to dying and being rebuild.

WHY: Testicles hold the spermazoidz (lol) that are introduced with the female's version of them to conceive life. Shepard was a rotting corpes when he/she was found. Either of these two were damaged. I believe, given what we know (nothing), that Shepard cannot have children by any means (artificial insemination included). The alternative would be "little blue girls" with Liara, but Shepard's nerveous system may also have been damaged beyond repair, leaving him unable to reproduce with asari.

Sad stuff, but very possible. Now to the next issue.

I heard the Shadow Borker was investigating's Shepard's resurrection, and was looking into Shepard's possible longetivity being extremely short. He estimated shepard would die off from the Lazarus's imperfection in a couple of months. The thing is, by the time ME3 hits, it has been 1y. and several months. Shepard did not die. This gives hint to Shepard having new longetivity. At the start of ME2, Shepard tells Jacob that his "head feels like an overripe melon ready to split open". later this feeling disappears and he "never felt better". So this means that Shepard is now "upgraded". Miranda claims she will live half as much as the avarage Human. Humans in 2186 live to the maximun of 150 years of age. So she'll live to be around 225 years. This is science fiction people, remember! So by my knowledge, shepard may surpass that, being better then Miranda. Shepard could even live as much as an Asari, or may even be immortal now! Immortal? Yes, immortal.

Shepard isn't Human, Shepard is a cyborg. half machine, half organic. Shepard has nodes scattered all over his body, possily keeping him alive or wathever it is that they do.

And that's what she wrote. Any more mindless speculation can be imputed below, hope you do.

This would definitely explain why Shepard was hacked during Overlord.

Everything was damaged and everything was rebuilt. If there was enough magic to restore brain with all memories restoring testicles would be easy cake. At the moment we know only about two flaws of Lazarus porject: Shepard's claudication and inability to dance.

Where is it from?

and if a VI can hack Shepard just imagine what an AI with knowledge spanning hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of years could do to him/her.

Seems plausible, and a good reason for why he needs constant reminding of certain people from ME1, despite actually helping them.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was an AI in overlord.

He wasn't hacked per se, the cybernetic implants Cerberus installed allowed him to experience how David saw the world. The hacked mechs and Geth attacked Sheaprd and his team, if he were hacked too, then the first two bullets would have been for the squadmates you brought along.

The topic of Shepard being able to reproduce or not has come up before, and I gave an answer which basically said that he could but I'll give the shortened version. Scientists now are already attempting and gaining some insight into how to create sperm and egg cells out of other cells in the body, fast forward over 100 years from now and its almost certain it would've been perfected. Meaning they'd only need a little bit of Shepards DNA in order to create lil swimmers.

Failing that, stem cell research by then would likely be extremely advanced, they could easily grow him a new pair. (and lets be honest, Miranda was made from her dad's tissue and she's female, they can do anything it seems)

The idea of immortality boggles my mind...

It will never be released because the earth would overpopulate too quickly after that, we would have to start major space travel and exploration.

HA, only the rich will be able to afford it..... yep i'm going to like living for two or three hundred years.

I highly doubt Shepard it even 90% organic anymore. I am inclined to think he is held to gather by highly advanced duct tape

no shepherd to me is now saren before being indoctrinated considering saren had all sorts of robotic parts on him.

I do think though anything is possible in science fiction and considering his/her body landed on a frozen body which should have preserved the body from deteriating but some of the body would been frozen or even fall off.

considering the technology of today is constantly improving I can imagine this being possible in the future

This.

I never understood why Cerberus invested that much money in the Lazarus project. Everybody knows that you can fix everything with enough duct tape.

Or, they could have just bought some Tupari.  According to that vending machine on the Citadel, it can resurrect the dead.

If there is some crazy "Shepard is a reaper" or "Shepard is a robot" plot twist in ME3 I am going to go into an uncontrollable rage.

And do what? Smash the screen? Go on a murdering rampage? We all know you'll just hurrumph and spill a drink or something.

No, damn it. That was uncalled for, I'm sorry.

Well, he wasn't a rotting corpse I know that much. He was spaced and space is near absolute zero in terms of temperature. He was probably frozen solid. Not much better, but it's not rotting at least lol

We really have no idea of knowing this since the details on the Lazarus Projects are not enough. I do think that he will live longer due to him being and Undead Cyborg. I also like to believe that Shep form ME2 and ME3 is the ''same'' person that he was in ME. His soul returned to him when his body was resurrected :P I don't care about explaining exactly how they brought him back along with his memories because they couldn't explain it in a way that would be satisfying the only way is to give him a new brain and somehow upload his memories from somewhere into the new brain. Which would not satisfy all the fans as this would not be the same person.

What I would like though is some details on upgrades and types of stuff that went into rebuilding the body rather than brain.
