Bah, reproduction is no problem as long as you have the DNA.
A spermcell is just a swimming bag that contains one copy of your DNA. This one merges with the other copy from the mother and creates a new DNA template for the next generation.

SO, you can take any cell of shepard, screen it's DNA and create a single (haploid) copy, and artificially (or not, if sheppy is in the mood) insiminate it.

Btw, if all his organs are ok, why not his balls?

And on the topic of immortality. It is not real immortality, its "not aging". Immortality implies that you can't die. But through genetic engineering (especially the ability of normal cells to reembryonise) you can regenerate and counter the effect of aging. You still need gene therapy to filter out the errors in your DNA. After years of regeneration, errors tend to slip in your genetic code, which is a major factor in aging.

Trust me on this, I'm a biologist and I know my ****.

Considering that this whole "revival" business is pure sci-fi anything is possible if devs declare it so.

If Lazarus Project team were able to revive Shepard's dead brain (!) without any memory loss or other impairments then fixing other body parts like reproduction system would be as easy as pie to them, I'd imagine. Either way, they fixed all of his\\her body, so I doubt they left that part neglected.

As for the longevity, Lazarus Project was not mere patch job - tons of credits were invested to the top tier tech to restore Shepard exactly the way he\\she was and battle-ready, so I don't think any of the tech implanted would suddenly break like a cheap Chinese toy after a short while. I believe that most of the short term tech that was used to revive Shepard was external or already taken out when his\\her body's vital organs were regenerated\\replaced or fixed to working condition. Only long term, sturdy implants would be practical to leave in the body, be it the ones that sustain Shepard's health or the ones that augment his\\her abilities. The latter, apparently, are dominant as Shepard seem to be feeling better than before. So I don't believe that Shepard is in danger of early death from being "revived". On the contrary, more likely his\\her lifespan was only increased because of that.

As for Shepard being a reaper/cyborg/indoctrinated - who knows, anything is is possible if devs declare it so :).

I say that whatever parts of Shepard are organic have been genetically modified and enhanced. Miranda is very aware (if not obsessed) of her genetic make-up. Maybe she used her enhancements as a reference point for Shepard. All the upgrades she has she gave to him (except the female appearance and massive melons, for those who would nitpick). Add the cybernetic upgrades to further increase his abilities. All together Shepard could have a lifespan comparable to Miranda or longer. Not a thousand years though (unless gene splicing with asari took place and if so throw in some krogan regeneration).

Go listen to the Lazarus station tapes again - the idea was to rebuild Shepard without any modifications whatsoever.

Re OP: In theory they could have re-grown pretty much all of Shepard in a vat (which is common enough for limbs as of Revelation) so 150 years is not unlikely, maybe twice that with the medigel lattice and implants. He might be brain dead as a result but that probably doesn't affect fertility.

Besides, think about the implications of your ideas. Do you also think that people reliant on a pacemaker are "not human"?

and if a VI can hack Shepard just imagine what an AI with knowledge spanning hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of years could do to him/her.

he'll hack them back!

The idea of immortality boggles my mind...

It will never be released because the earth would overpopulate too quickly after that, we would have to start major space travel and exploration.

HA, only the rich will be able to afford it..... yep i'm going to like living for two or three hundred years.

hah, have fun with that one, I am hating life after only 21 years, wouldn't want to live 300

Refer to If-, if it's correct, Shepard's more of it than most people here.

Would be cool to have your mind uploaded onto a computer and become a sentient AI.

That would be boring. Unless you love to do science, or/and have access to deadly neurotoxin and people to kill with the deadly neurotoxin.

How can you hate being alive? you must mean that you hate your situation but not really the whole "living" part, i suggest a steady diet, exercise and going to he pub/clubs when it doesn't interfere too much for the first two....  if that doesn't help go to strip joints and other such places and i'm sure you'll wish that you could live forever mate.

I don't know what would make someone think he is impotent. In fact, I'd venture a guess and say he has been implanted with nanobots that contain his DNA for almost clone-like reproduction.

In fact, he visits the Krogan and knocks up all their women.

"You thought I was bad before? My kids have redundant nervous systems"

And I'm only partially joking.

Shepard does have one female breeding request on Tuchanka so he could uplift the Krogan with his own DNA. :D

Science also says that Global Warming is a hoax. Sure it is......

FYI, the debate isn't over whether or not global warming is real, but whether or not it is caused by humans.

Actually, no. Developed nations typically have negative population growth due to there being other forms of entertainment besides having babies and greater economic gains from working rather than taking time off to do so.

Immortality would increase that effect rather than decrease it. Also immortality due to a lack of aging is not the same as invulnerability. People would still murder and die in accidents and suicide.

Now serial immortality by way of lazarus is another mattter. If that ever became cost effective, there would be overpopulation issues.

Which is a bit of a red herring in that there can be natural global warming that is a greater problem due to human activity. Those who oppose the concept that humans are part of the problem try to point to natural causes and act as if they are the only relevant factors.
