When have you been Indepentant in ME1, espeically flying in an alliance ship and working for the council.Raizo wrote...
The only people in the Alliance that I respect are Anderson and Hackett. As far as I'm concerned the Alliance is just as bad as Cerebus, for all I know most of the Alliance's top brass are Cerebus supporters so the prospect of Shepard going back to the Alliance pisses me off especially seeing as how my Shepard is a Spectre, he is no longer an Alliance soldier ( Spectre's work for the Council ).
I miss being independant like in ME1.
We're going to get pinned with the Alliance/Spectres in ME3 aren't we.....

No, that's not spoiling the plot.ExtremeOne wrote...

Well probably because this is exactly the reaction they want. They want you to be dying to know so you hang around and buy the game when it comes out. Also some people always complain about spoilers even when they made the decision to look at them.laecraft wrote...

and I love how people are already saying Cerberus trying to kill you is a retcon already when bioware hasn't said why they want you dead (hint it has nothing to do with ME2's events, they've said you'll find out why near the begining of ME3)
Why won't they just tell us? I mean, tell people who want to be spoiled. Because I'm curious like all hell! They told too much already. Why not share the rest!
They put it in the GI article and now they won't talk about it thats garbage .

Something like:
The trial proceedings will probably lean in towards us being guilty and charged and Shep knows it. Then during the trial the Reapers invade, Shep escapes the trial and steals the new alliance Normandy with the help of Anderson.
We find out out Cerberus is after Shep.
As for the Spectre status, I don't see it playing a huge part in ME3. A few indications being that getting Spectre status back in ME2 was inconsequential and Anderson also comments that it really meant nothing and is more of an olive branch than anything else. Also, during Sheps trial it looks like he has no backing from the Council/Spectres...which leads me to believe that even if you decided to get re-instated, the council probably revoked your Spectre status. This would then play in line with those of us who chose to tell the Council to shove it in ME2. And lastly, one of the VS will become a Spectre....ie Shep status revoked and replaced with a new human Spectre.
Plus we're at war now....at this point who would care if Shep is a Spectre or not.....you've got a hundred gigantic problems to deal with.

Ceberus acting as a covert black op's part of the alliance could do all the nasty things we know they did without getting the alliance into trouble. They could bring back shepard from the dead and force shepard to work alongside them to take out the collectors (once again not getting the alliance into too much trouble for working in the terminus systems) and providing plausible deniability if things go wrong.
So we go on to me3 and this is actually when cerberus goes rogue and now trys to kill shepard because it disagrees with the line the alliance is taking.

Your Shepard is named Frank?!
Hehe. But seriously, good points.
True but fun: Mine is. Frank Shepard, earthborn, sole survivor, soldier and insufferable Paragon saint. :innocent:

1. What was stolen from Shepard? I hope you don't mean the Normandy SR2 and EDI cause those were never Sheps to begin with....ExtremeOne wrote...

Shep went back to the Alliance and took the Normandy EDI and maybe the crew with him. That could be reason enough right there.Pwener2313 wrote...

I'm more curious as to why Cerberus wants you dead. What if I am a pro-cerberus human supremacist?
Im that and still they want me dead. I think they found out why the Reapers wanted Shepard....... ot TIM is indoctrinated for some convoluted stupid reason.
That was all stolen from Shepard. because I will not obey none of their rules .
2. You may not have a choice in this.

What if as some people have speculated cerberus really is part of the alliance? then basically you've been working for the alliance the whole time.

I have been thinking about that since I played arrival and ME 2 over again . That could explain it but at least sounds like a logical idea better than the indocunation crap

Like I said if the story is logical I am fine with it but if its bull sh*t well then Bioware needs to be called on it

"Hell yeah the alliance did steal the SR 2" Yes from Cerberus. It was never Sheps. He just commanded it. Hell not even the SR1 was Sheps ship. That was the properity of the Alliance.ExtremeOne wrote...
