Insanity - How to?

I finished a playthrough on Veteran, super rushed. I mostly ESC'd through most dialogues to get over with it. Now I'll start my "new game" and replay my Engineering with some perks already.
I am wondering which Biotic to keep in group. I really dislike both Liara and Kaidan as characters. But biotic power seem very overpowered in this game, if I hadnt finished a playthrough just to do Insanity I'd probably reroll biotics and send everyone flying to their deaths.

Wrex and Liara. The first one is also the best "tank" with barrier and immunity,in addition too valuable biotics like warp and throw.

Bah, I hate how metagaming my way into ME2 shows how OCD I can be.

I thought he said he was rolling with a mid level Engineer, so that wouldn't be an issue as she should have that. If you are starting out, then sure, but as I said, in my post try it out and if it doesn't work then reroll to a biotic character like he said.

Is Adept still the powerhouse and Engineers weaklings with explosions?

Adept is nerfed (a lot) in ME2,and I don't know for Engineer since I never used it.Eighty wrote...

In ME2,Soldier is probably the most powerful class.

As far as Engineers being weaklings with explosions, in ME1 that isn't the case once you realize that you can stop an entire room from shooting at you with our explosions and stun a large area making them stand still as well, you just have to be able t keep using them so you need things that greatly reduce your cooldowns like medi-exos and good omni-tools. Engineers bloom late for real power, which you should see if you take an Engineer through at higher levels.

adept isn't nerfed imo. its just very different. Its more like an engineer. use warp plus singularity equals biotic explosion. gets boring when spammed tho.Ghost Warrior wrote...

Only if Mass Effect somehow becomes way too easy for you as if you've figured it out perfectly should you attempt a Fresh Shep Insanity.

It's nerfed compared to ME1. With Adept, nothing could stop you in ME1,it was almost like a god mod.In ME2 (on Insanity) it's one of the weakest classes,if not the weakest.
Um, yeah it could. As an adept, the early game could stop you quite easily with a low leveled adept. To be quite frank, low level adepts suck. In ME2, you aren't as strong as a endgame ME1 adept, but you can still hold your own. It's just a different sort of playstyle.

Its far worser as an soldier and infiltrator on insanity from level one.Without master immunity and good armor, even the krogan bouncer in choras den could kill you in one hit.

First of all, make sure both squad members are using dual Medical Exoskeleton in their armour. This will reduce the cooldown on their abilities. Make sure you get them decent implants/omni-tools, as well.
When you're out in open spaces, use Lift on enemies like Krogan. Then, you can use abilities like Throw to send them outside the combat area, which instantly kills them. (Hey, this is Insanity...you need to fight dirty!) In more enclosed spaces, make sure you use Lift and Singularity to crowd control enemies, and use abilities like Sabotage and Dampening to keep them from using their weapons or powers.
Using these strategies, I've found my Insanity run to be almost laughably easy so far, with the exception of Colossi...damn those Colossi! Just make sure you use the full scope of powers on your teammates, like AI hacking and Warp, and ensure that your squad has a good tech/biotic/combat ratio going.
If this is on a level 1 character just starting out...
...pray?
