Did I miss something or? :P

I've finally been able to get three playthroughs under my belt and enjoyed them very much. The Third very much so deciding to side with the Templers (Not Meredith, but the Templers) was very well done. Anyway I am getting off track.

I am curious as to why you have three chances to meet with every woman's favourite hunk of a man, and zero chances to meet Anora. I can understand if you couldn't get the voice actress or ran out of time, or are planning something else for her entirely in the possible next game or DLC. I wouldn't mind some more closure on how Prince Cousland and Queen Anora are going. :P But by the sounds of things they're doing great. ;)

Does anyone else care? Or am I in a very, very, very small minority here?

I'd imagine that unlike Alistair, Anora would take her responsibilities a little more seriously and not go running off to another country to do lines about Swooping.

She'd probably take more of an interest in Orlais if thats where we go for DA3.

Thank the Maker they didn't bring her back in DA2.

After one entire playthrough of DAO of listening to that woman's voice, I was happy for Alistair to lock her up, and was wishing he could kill her like he did her father. (I think I chose the aggressive option for the voice for my protagonist). Every time I would have her unlock a chest, she'd say a snide comment like, "Done now, are you happy?", or during battle if I button-smashed too much, she'd say, "Can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?" Ugh. Seriously, you know how long DAO is. Tell me that wouldn't annoy the sh-- out of you. :-)

It goes without saying that I'm crossing my fingers that they don't bring her back in DA3.  :D

But of course, this is just IMHO.

Good point, I completely forgot about that. I think all that Isabela romancing is getting to my head :P

Also: Shoe shopping. Sometimes a Queen just wants to have pretty feet.

Maybe I'm missing something here...but how did you get Anora to unlock chests? I don't think her own husband could get her to unlock her chastity belt.

Speaking of Isabela, she had the same voice actress as Anora in DAO.  Now Isabela has a different VA, and Anora is nowhere to be found.  I think they just couldn't get her back for whatever reason.

And yes, before someone points it out, I'm aware they said they changed Isabela's VA so "people wouldn't get confused."  I don't think that holds much water though as most VA's play a multitude of roles.  Simon Templeman, who did the voice of Loghain, also did "Caladrius / Bann Ceorlic / Emissary Pether / Haven Guard / Ostagar Tranquil / Kennel Master / Tranquil Proprietor"  So why can't Mika Simmons voice both Isabela and Anora?

@CutlassJack

It wasn't Anora herself, per se. The aggressive voice was hers, though. You know, in the very beginning of the game, where you get to pick your protagonist's voice? ;)

@Rifneno:  Yeah I know Mika Simmons voiced both Isabela and Anora. ;)

I love Isabela's new voice actress, and I am happy about the switch. But I'd really like it if Anora came back and played a big role in DA3 but I doubt it as many people disliked her.

I did not dislike her. I only liked her more after finding out just how manipulative she can beImage IPB

I didn't mind her as a character, I just hated her voice. To me, it was like nails on a chalkboard...kinda like Isolde.

Edit: I love Isabela's new voice. It totally suits her.

No that was Jo Wyatt. Completely different voice. But now it makes the above paragraph clearer.

And I prefer the new Isabela voice too.

I think Anora was another really well written character that I'd like to see back in DA3.

She was clearly a better fit ruler than Alistair, yet my Warden chose to have her locked up, simply because she did not seem thrustworthy. She'd turn on the wardens in a second, if she saw perosnal gain in it - just as she had turned on her own father. My Warden had to first see to the interests of the GW's even if it meant giving Ferelden a less than fit ruler (Alistair).

Point: Anora was a character who seems believeable and had me as player make a really difficult decision. That's one of the things that made DA:O and its characters so great.

Surely Anora, like so many other DAO characters have much more to offer still.

I actually liked Anora. It was a shame not to see her again, but I guess she just sent her husband to tell Hawke about swooping Orlesians or whatever it was.

Doubtful given her hubby was more or less trying to wed her, and throw her away. Always wanted to kill Anora myself but figure the pair can rule well together and thus I don't.

I do hope that Anora returns in DA3, and was disappointed when she did not reappear for DA2. If possible, I'd be interested to see how Ferelden differs under her rule, compared to that of Alistair.

I like her character.

We don't even get to see how Ferelden is doing under Alistair's rule. We just hear there may be war between Ferelden and Orlais. That's it!

Same here. My first DA II Import was actually my Human Noble who married Anora and became King and apparantly, they made a good couple and were good rulers. At least, that's what they say in Kirkwall :)

I also wanted an Anora cameo (as she was the Queen in my import) but noooooooooo :crying:

I guess she's too busy doing important Queen stuff to travel much.

Indeed! That's why I'm hopeful that the state of Fereldan politics will be explored again in the near future.

BTW, does anyone else feel as though the events ocurring in other parts of Thedas are infintely more interesting than being stuck in Jerkwall.

What's the thing that has the Wardens so concerned?

What's up with Flemeth and Morrigan?

Has Shale become a squishy flesh creature?

How's Ferelden doing under Anora/Alistair?

Nothing of interest happens in Kirkwall. Just Hawke being a Fed-Ex employee, and ninjas trying to kill you at every turn.

Oh sure it sounds more interesting. Until you find out that lack of a blight forced the Warden to take up a job as a pizza delivery boy to pay bills.
