I won't ever get TW1 or TW2. It is not appealing because there is no gender choice. That is the one and only pre-requisite for me. I can't play a male. No, I'm not a mishanrdi-ist. I love men. But I can't play one. I tried, but it doesn't work for me, personally.
Same. Can't relate to a male protaganist, which ruins immersion for me and thus I get bored. I'm sure there are other developers out there still providing gender choice (Bethesda must be, though their flavour of RPGs isn't my thing), but wanting the option to play as a female character does seem to limit your options a lot. A real shame.
Back on topic, what I want is more romance cutscene and dialog in general. I'd even go so far as to sacrifice the quantity of LI choices if it meant more resources available for fleshing out romance subplots. Two reasonably complex LIs (one male LI and one female LI, both bi if need be - I'm fine with that approach) as opposed to four or more LIs whose romance plots feel a little stretched.
And as much as I liked the concept of rivalry/friendship in DA2, I'd do away with it if one of its consequences was fewer cutscenes per romance playthrough. I prefer to have MORE in a single romance session (har de har), than the option to do it again but with different pillow talk (ho ho).
As for the heart symbols, well, what ishmaeltheforsaken said previously. I don't care if the symbols stay or go myself. So long as it is fairly obvious that a particular dialog choice or action has broken off a romance. It can get a bit annoying when you only learn several hours of gameplay later that your LI has dumped you.
