Also vote for DEX and dagger/dagger build, just made the tankinot one and love it over 2h or s/s. Roses thorn is the best weapon. Plus with momentum u hit so fast.

So without Awakening Rose's Thorn is the best dagger in the game. Is The Edge really the best off-hand dagger? There's nothing else better? What about Duncan's dagger? Just seems crazy that an item named after a guy in U2 is the second best dagger in the base game...
Also, what about dual wielding dual Veshialle's? Aren't war axe's supposed to be faster than long swords? Just curious, still thinking dagger/dagger is best.

I tried both The Edge and Duncans dagger in the offhand and honestly didnt notice any difference. I think if you crunch the numbers The Edge is higher dps since it carries to both weapons at the cost of 1 offhand rune slot.
I made a tank that had 34 base Str, rest dex. Templar/Champion, with 100% spell resist, and 30% dodge from Clinch belt and Calins Boots. This guy was a killing machine, laughed at mages, while taking almost no damage. You could dump Champion for Bezered or Reaver if you wanted to just dps. On page 1 Last Darkness is right on the money with his view, for a more damaged based character.
Both Str with an Axe and Dex with daggers will increase damage. If you take the Dex Dagger/Dagger route you also get super Defense. and only have to pump 1 Stat. Plus you hit faster with the daggers, thus doing more DPS. Through in elemental weapons/poisions, and you will like the damage. I tried 2h and s/s and DW is by far better for DPS then both IMO. its not like much lives past 1-5 hits for me anyways except the big Bosses and then I go toe to toe and have such great defense/spell resist that they dont do much, need occasionaly regen and always have my healer set to regen my stamina anyways.
And you save 1 skill point not going with big weapons, Top right of DW Tree forgot the name.

I forgot to also mention you should be using poisons as well (Helps if you have the mod that boosts poisons to last 30 minutes). I like the tier 3 Concentrated Crow Poison that does 6 damage and has a 15% chance for a 7 second stun.
If you use any larger weapon what you want to do is actualy build more for a skill spammer build. My design is more of a auto attack as most skills except for stuns etc are not needed in most situations.
@Krondorr
Templar/Reaver works as well for a intresting mix. Champion is effective with this build because as stated it dosnt use alot of stam leaving plenty for Rally/Warcry (And the aoe knock down from templar hehe).
I suggest 38-42 Str AFTER gear bonuses so you can wear the armor you want, and put more point into Dex for defense,attack, and damage.
@Ramziese
The Rose Thorn is the best dagger, that should be your main hand. Offhand though has a number of good options.
Dead Theig Shanker from Stone prisoner DLC, The Edge DLC(Not availible for everyone), Duncans Dagger from Return to ostagar DLC, Fang (You HAVE to be a City Elf to get this), Gift of the Grey.
I personaly feel Fang/Edge are the best offhands. You want to aim for higher Crit chance and +damage, since the build can get some high crit rates as well.
(Axes are about same speed as sword but have higher crit chances)
As for duel Veshialles (You cheater lol) thats actualy best for the Str based melee rogue setups, or for a skill spamming warrior build.
Continuing on with daggers forward progression.
In Awakening its really easy just get Voice of Velvet and switch that as your main hand and have Roses Thorn offhand.
Though I must suggest the Berserker/Reaver build is not for everyone and it does require specific party members to maximise damage in Origins and Awakening. Namely two mages and one rogue.
The Templar/Berserker and Templar/Reaver builds are a bit more user friendly.

@Last Darkness
Yea I cheated
After playing through the game once I decided money was kind of stupid and that I didn't want to miss out on items sooo.... dupe bug is my friend! As for the dwarf selling everything in his inventory twice, I think that's just BioWare's fault for letting me abuse that after four patches!
So, my cheating streak called out, I also used a mod to add Fang to my warrior so I'm using The Rose's Thorn in my main hand and Fang in my off hand. Until Awakening and the Voice of Velvet I'm set on weapons, but what about the rest?
I've heard lots of differing opinions on armor. Some say Warden's Armor (if you have the DLC) is best for this class combo, others say Cailen's (from the other DLC) is best. Still others say that the heavy or medium Wade's Superior Dragon is good with Evon The Great's Mail spliced in. I think almost all of these universally agree that Helm of Honoloth is a must (DLC item, again). Is there another armor set I'm not mentioning which is better than these? Perhaps individual pieces that mixed and matched together are better than any set bonus? Would love advice here to maximize survivability and damage.
Also, what about accessories? Right now I'm using Anduil's Blessing, Pearl of the Anointed One, The Harvest Festival Ring, and Key to the City. Are there better pieces to put together?
Also, finally, what should my second specialization be? I've gone berserker right now, which I'm enjoying and think adds a lot to my build, but i'm not sure between Templar/Reaver/Champion for the last specialization. Which of these adds what? Again, I want DPS, but I also want survivability.

Check what I posted on the other page, except i now use gloves of Diligence, that is pretty much the highest damage set (as far as I know anyway) except swap out the tanking ring for harvest festival (im main tank), Evons/Wades is great, Cailen's is great (imo better than WC armour)
LD already discussed the specs on the other page im sure, if not quick runthrough
for max dam Reaver - Aura of Pain is alright AoE damage, Blood Frenzy *can* add a lot of damage but you need to be almost dead for it to have affect.
Templar - More survivable, can get 100% spell resist with it, nice AoE knockback/stun, can cleanse area of harmful magic.
Champion - not as good as the others, AoE knockdown, boost to attack and def that you dont need.
