Recently finished Return to Ostagar and I cant decide whether or not the extra rune slot, 10% crit damage and 4 dex from Duncan's Dagger outweigh the flat +5 to damage and 3% crit chance from The Edge. DW dex warrior is the character. Any thoughts?
Which dagger to use...

I'm no authority on min/max gear but if I would make a guess I'd go with Duncan's dagger. If you can get criticals fairly often then I think the increased critical damage and the extra rune slot outweigh the benefits of the edge. Besides you lose the edge in awakening if you are looking to import your character whereas Duncan's dagger carries over.

As to the +5 damage from Edge, consider that...
* Unlike runes, nothing is resistant to it.
* Unlike runes, it functions on Talents
* The damage modifier applies to both hands
Edge also has an ATT bonus advantage.
Duncan's may be better if you have a CUN Rogue (and a Taunting Tank), but for any other setup, run Rose / Edge.

If the Edge happens to work like that then definitely keep it. I didn't know the increased damage applies to both weapons. Ditto with the runes as well. The Rose/Edge combo just seems so unfair now.
Also the link in your sig has very good information pertaining to warriors Random. Alot of very good numbers there.

duncans dagger has the better damage vs undead and stuff right? Or was it darkspawn.
I could get duncans dagger and fill with cold iron or fire runes if it has the undead damage bonus. since undead are most of the time immune to backstab/flank, the massive extra damage (i think u can get to +15 with grandmaster fire runes, and +10 against undead from the dagger itself) will bring horrible skeletons and revs down fast - yet the fact revs are demons and not undead is just a bummer.

ohh, +10 vs dragons... my mistake.
Id probably get it a bunch of lightning runes or something, since that would deal extra damage to both undead and dragons.

I was eventually going to get Fang as i'm a city elf, but i'm wondering if it is worth just keeping the Edge now...blast

What's a good substitution if you don't have access to The Edge? I also have an off topic question for Random but anybody can answer me. What's an adequate substitution for Wicked Oath? As you can see, I don't have access to those downloadables.

If you don't have access to The Edge, I'd go with Duncan's Dagger, The Rose's Thorn or a tier 6 version of Thorn of the Dead Gods.

Dead Thaig Shanker is also good. But if you are on pc then everyone can get it :

Too bad Dead Thaig Shanker doesn't import to Awakening. The bonuses to cunning and attack are certainly nice.
