Ok so for my mage I went with Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage/Battle Mage for my build. Through time and dedication this is what I ended up with.

        Attributes
Strength - 40 (16+24)
Dexterity - 44 (16+28)
Willpower - 112 (47+65)
Magic - 131 (78+53)
Cunning - 45 (21+24)
Constitution - 88 (32+56)

As far as those stats go. I never once put a point in Strength or Dexterity. I put a few points in cunning so that I could get max Coercion. The rest were raised due to fade enhancements as well as bonus stats received from armor.

               Resistances
Mental Resistance Check - 150
Physical Resistance Check - 150
Fire Resistance - 85%
Cold Resistance - 85%
Electrical Resistance - 85%
Nature Resistance - 75%
Spirit Resistance - 75%

      Statistics
Health - 666/666
Mana - 589/589 (This mana amount is with my sustained spells going without its 924/924)
Armor - 52
Defense - 159
Spellpower - 153
Damage - 132
Fatigue - 92.6% (Yeah thats a huge amount of fatigue I know)

      Gear Equiped
Main Hand - Vigilance
Off Hand - Landsmeet Shield
Helm - Toque of the Oblivious
Hands - Oven Mitts
Chest - Vestments of the Seer
Feet - Winter boots
Belt - Sash of Forbidden Secrets
Neck - Scout's Medal
Ring 1 - Ring of Mastery
Ring 2 - Ring of Discipline

Now as far as my combat tactics go, I usually start by casting my spells then going in with my sword to finish the battle. Even with my large amount of fatigue I have more than enough mana to cast spells without losing mana before the battle ends. As far as spells go I start by moving to the center of the battle using Mind blast then I go with Cone of cold then move on to Shock, manuver to the center and use Hand of winter (which usually Generates around 300dmg to each of them) So if they are not dead by that point I activate Blood Magic and start using my sword. I dont swap between a sword and a staff because Its still as effective to just cast all of my spells at once and then just go in with my sword. As far as basic damage goes I do around 120 damage basic then (+21 Electric Damage +15 Ice damage from Frost Weapons) And thats per hit. As far as missing goes I usually miss 2 out of 10 times that I swing.

Thats about all I feel like explaining sorry. If you have more questions Ill be more than glad to answer. Also please tell me your opinion of my build and offer sudgestions.

P.S. I have yet to finish the game with this build. Hes at level 30 with only The Wending Woods and The Blackmarsh Finished.

That's a good build, in my opinion. Way better than my own, actually--though, that is entirely my doing because I usually focus on making my allies stronger rather than myself. If you're playing on nightmare, you can still tackle the rest of the game pretty easily.

In fact, with a build like that, I actually don't see the point of being a Blood Mage, other than Blood Wound. You have a large amount of mana and Willpower, which would make it very easy to regain mana and hold sustainables. With Stoic, from the Battlemage line, you get mana back after taking a certain amount of damage, if you can even take damage from the high dexterity. If you have spell shield, there is no need to worry about mages at all because none of their spells would work on you and even if they do, they would yield little results. You can also regenerate your health fairly fast assuming you have Heal, Regeneration, Draining Aura, as well as other healing spells.

This is me speaking from my experience from playing Awakenings on Xbox, I don't know if it would be the same on the PC.

If your arcane warrior feels pretty dominant to you, I'm sure it's a good build. The stats certainly look ok.

With my arcane warrior, I had him dual wield Vigilance+Voice of Velvet and wore the Wade's Superior Dragonbone Plate set. He was pretty much a melee fighter and used spells for situational crowd control. I did switch between my dual wield weapons and Spellfury if I was fighting templars and didn't want to keep recasting all of the buffs every time they spammed cleanse area, or when I was casting buffs that improve with higher spellpower, or for an extra set of hotkeys.

Ooh, this after the whole game? interesting.

Nice one with the 666 HP, so far i havent had a mage go over 300hp.
My currect arcane warrior has like about 900 mana total and 280hp.

... so u can see how much of a bummer mana clash would be if i got attacked by it.

Yeah. I cant wait to to see his endgame stats. Also my team is also suited up just as bad as my Arcane Warrior. I gave spellfury to Anders. Oghren does more damage then me as well. We go through nightmare mode like its a peice of cake. :)

Oh and as far as Blood Mage goes I tend to need the Blood Magic alot since My spells eat alot of mana because of my fatigue. But when in Blood Magic it costs alot less. Also Im pretty buffed in defense I dont usually lose more than 100hp in a battle. I never get hit for more than 20 or so hp.
