What's your biggest gripe?
1. Being told what a great game it was going to be and getting this tur...key instead.
2. Being told this was the game you asked for.
3. Being told you were stupid for not liking this "awesome" game.
4. The inability to converse with your companions any time or place you wanted.
5. The way 90% of the "loot" was useless.
6. That cave.
7. Still running XP? No hi-res graphics for you!
8. Your the Champion of Kirkwall and a "noble" ... and you have 15 gold to your name and you're everyone's errand boy.
9. What choices did you make? Whom did you side with? Surprise, it doesn't matter! You still have to kill everyone.
10. Except for the ones you want to ...
11. The story had potential, but it too got stupidifi ... "streamlined".
12. You got suckered into pre-ordering it.
13. You're still playing it hoping it will get better.
14. etc., etc.
There are so many it's hard to pick the most egregious.
What upsets you the most about DAII?

The single largest gripe I have with the game is the combat system. There are many flaws with it, which have already been discussed from every angle elsewhere, thus I shant bring them into this.
I also felt that the party members mostly were very cardboard - they had very little in the way of character development, and were extremely single minded in their purpose and ideals.
Surprisingly, I found Isabela to be one of the deepest companions in the game.

9 and 10 from a gameplay perspective for sure... I was certain it couldn't get any worse than the cracked out speed of combat and the goofy new animations... but then it did!

Yeh, pretty much the whole list.
But #5 the most now that they are releasing (more) item based DLC.
What's the point of playing the game if all the best loot is DLC content? Seriously. Not that loot is everything, but it irks me that you just slap on your overpowered DLC armor/weapons and just coast through the game tossing everything else.

Of this list? 4, 5, 6, 9 and 11. Though I would like to clarify that I actually did enjoy the story; it's what kept me playing. The thing I disliked was how disjointed it felt with the time jumps. It sort of felt like I played three separate stories that didn't have much connection to one another.

#5 was easily remedied with a mod that let me equip my characters how I wanted.

Nope. I was smart enought to play the demo and not put any expectations on the game.
2. Being told this was the game you asked for.
I wasn't asking for a DA2, so this probably doesn't apply to me.
3. Being told you were stupid for not liking this "awesome" game.
Nope. Doesn't bother me at all.
4. The inability to converse with your companions any time or place you wanted.
Didn't really miss that in BGII, ToB, or ME2... but I wouldn't mind its return if it was well implemented.
Either way, still 'no.'
5. The way 90% of the "loot" was useless.
90% of all "loot" is useless anyways. If you mean how it's restricted to Hawke, I found it sort of confusing at first, but near the end I appreciated how it let the companion NPCs retain their distinct visual identity. I can't really see assigning Isabela some leather pants.
6. That cave.
Yes, I will agree with you here.
7. Still running XP? No hi-res graphics for you!
XP is dead. Accept it. Win7 is actually really good. Without official support for years now, I don't feel bad for people still clinging to XP.
8. Your the Champion of Kirkwall and a "noble" ... and you have 15 gold to your name and you're everyone's errand boy.
Only 15? I had like 250gp by the end.
Some of the errand quests were annoying, yes.
9. What choices did you make? Whom did you side with? Surprise, it doesn't matter! You still have to kill everyone.
I hadn't really been ingratiated to either side (which might be a better #9), so killing everyone wasn't a big deal to me. Story-wise, my Hawke just did what had to be done. When pressed, he sided with the Mages because of his sister, not because he agreed with Anders or Meredith.
10. Except for the ones you want to ...
I killed Meredith. So, that would be a 'No' to this one.
11. The story had potential, but it too got stupidifi ... "streamlined".
Nope, just the people who spout "streamlined" like it's a bad thing and can't accept there's a different story format other than the classical Epic.
There are games made for people who enjoy obtuse complexity. Streamlining can be a good thing, but the systems in-between a well-designed streamlined system and a complex system (like DA2's) tend to be a bit unfocused.
12. You got suckered into pre-ordering it.
Nope. I was smart. I played the Demo, liked the demo, and then ordered the game without many expectations in terms of characters or story. I didn't find DA:O all that enthralling, so I wasn't hyped for a sequel.
13. You're still playing it hoping it will get better.
No. I'm smart. I liked what I played through, enjoyed it, and see it for what it is. Hoping in vain that it's going to magically attune itself towards your preferences after a patch is a recipe for disaster.
14. etc., etc.

Actually, half of these seem to be, "I was expecting the game to be something else, I pre-ordered the game, and now I feel betrayed because BioWare lied to me about my expectations!"
Which is sort of stupid, since the developers will always hype the game, and it's never wise to continue paying for a game if you disagree with what the demo showed. If you played the demo, liked the mechanics, and felt betrayed by the story, that's more understandable. The story was a step outside of BioWare's norm, one which I enjoyed, but that's a personal taste.
In that case, it's a lesson that sometimes you pay for things you weren't expecting.
Personally, I expect BioWare to return to the epic type stories they've done a half-dozen times over in DA3, but I don't see DA2 as BioWare's death knell. The game was good, if not particularly great, but nostalgia holds the RPG genre back like a leash.
Either way, I plan to do the same with DA3 as I did with DA2. Ignore whatever's said about it, play the demo, and evaluate the worthiness of the purchase then.

Personally, 9-11 bugged me the most. The lack of impact my choices had on a city I spent the better part of a decade in and became its Champion had me thinking that the story's already told, I'm just along for the ride..
6 was annoying too, but if the above had been better, I might have forgiven it.

All but 13. I know it isn't getting any better. Bioware no longer is capable of making quality products, at least not with Mr. Laidlaw at the helm of said products.
