What upsets you the most about DAII?

Seriously, I should be able to assign stat points and choose talents for my dog.
While I'm complaining about that let me say that I had a problem with the way dog was handled in DA:O too.
It was his approval ... it was always at 100.
I still believe we should have had to win his approval like any other companion.
He should have had a quest too.
Combat prowess and/or damage could have been modified by his (dis)approval score.
Max out his approval and he brings you better stuff.
Max out his disapproval and he pisses on your leg every time you stand still.
As it was, I just gave his gifts to Sten ...

Well one thing wrong with your idea of approval for the dog is.. you imprint on the animals mind, meaning he is loyal, unabashed love and will do anything for you. so 100 approval makes perfect sense.
You're making the assumption that you've had him since he was a puppy, and not even the human noble origin states that.
In all the other origins he obviouly had a previous master.
Winning his approval in those origins at least should not be "instant 100".

They visited the dog, Hawke was only incidental. And when they visited the dog, they barely spoke to her. Dog was invited to hang out with them, Hawke was apparently persona non grata at those pet-togethers.
I absolutely agree with your thoughts on this, but I fixed the one little part (in bold).

Give them to Sten or Oghren.
They will show their appreciation for them.
Not like dog ... <_<

It's probably been mentioned, but the fact that Mage Hawke is only recognized as a mage to fit the story. Meridth knows Hawke is a mage, but Cullen doesn't? One could say the Grand Cleric knows but doesn't want to say as the consequences could be unpleasant for all. Varric knows Hawke is a mage, but Sebastian doesn't and Anders sometimes remembers Hawke is a mage and other times forgets.
Even Hawke herself (or himself) handwaves the issue when going in and out of the Gallows. "They won't notice little old me, I'll just blend in." Funny, but I didn't think mages could come and go as they pleased. And to be honest, I wouldn't mind it so much if the mage/templar thing hadn't been the whole point of the story. There's suspension of disbelief and then there's hanging it by the neck until dead. I'm sorry, but that small thing really bugged me.
It's not a small thing. It bothered me tremedously to the point of being jarring. It bothered me enough to mod up so I could at least play mageHawke. I expected consequences for choosing the build, but all I got was incoherence, unbelievability, and lore-kicking to the point that it was left bloodied and dead by the curb. In short
(personally, me, I, no one else, etc)
Lol @ Tommy. Good one. I shall add you to the "no drinking or eating while reading his post" list.

When the bad completely overshadows the good, you're going to get that. Yes. It's neither unusual nor does it render the criticism invalid.expanding panic wrote...
That so many people feel the need to keep posting crap about why the game is absolutely the worst game ever created, and that their is not one single good aspect to the game at all.
Lets say you've got a delicious, fresh-baked Chocolate chip cookie in front of you. But, that cookie happens to have some rat droppings and cat ****** on it.
Now lets say its time for you to post a review of that cookie. Are you going to spend any time talking about how wonderfully gooey and sweet that cookie is? Are you going to point out how tasty the huge chunks of chocolate are? No, you probably won't. Instead, you'll probably spend most of your review talking about how that cookie had friggin RAT DROPPINGS and CAT ****** on it and how they ultimately ruined your Chocolate Chip cookie eating experience.

I upset about the reused maps, the waves and waves and waves of enemies, the exploding bodies, the old looking hands, not being able to talk to my companions like in Origins, not being to sleep with my LI anytime I wanted like in Origins, Sir Pounce-a-Lot not being there, Zevrans face, Zevran cheating on my warden with Isabella >, Alistairs face, Ban Teagans face, not being able to murder-knife Sebastian in the back of his head in Act III when he was walking off to go back to Starkhaven, not being able to murder-knife him when he was walking behind me talking to Fenris about turning in my mage friends and trying to decide which one of them would do it (nevermind the fact that I'm a mage as well), peoples hands being a different skin tone than their faces, "I want you here, till the day we die." I HATE that line, being forced to help the templars, and they didn't have darker skin tones.
I still love the game, though.
I agree with all of those! And I wanted to murder knife Sebastian soooooo bad. Not even the lovely Scottish brogue ( by an actor I happen to like) could save him...*hand twitches looking for the murder knife* Where is that bloody blade when you need it?

Me too. I abandoned a playthrough after that one. I'd been intending a Sebastian romance, but I just couldn't stand being near him any more.

How bout a Romance where you stab him repeatedly on the Bed.

That would have been nice. At least he would have been more tolerable knowing I'd get to....
Wait....you meant murder him? Oh. Um. Yeah, that would have also worked

Hey, I don't see anyone complaining about DA:O or ME1/2 here...
What upsets me most about DAII? It killed my dog, and slept with my mother.
That dirty bastard.

It's a role-playing thing. You might as well ask, what's the point in giving your dog a bone to chew on in real life. You get exactly the same results.kglaser wrote...

That said, according to Wiki, giving dog a gift increases his chances of finding a good item for you the next time you ask him to.

You learn something new every day. I usually ignore the Puppy gifts, given that his approval never changes anyway. I'll pick 'em up next time!

Did you check the roof tops, rafters and ceilings? Because most of Kirkwall's citizens live there. lol

Yeah I didn't figure that out until my third play through. Give him a bone then ask him to find something...he is more likely to find those little extras. *HUGS*
