Is anyone else getting a little sick of being broke. Especially by Act 3 when your a rich important champion, I can never buy the couple of select items I want. I'm used to having to be thrifty from DAO but in that game at least you could buy a few of the "top" items" in the game towards the very end.
Most RPGs money is an issue in the begining but by the end of the game you can pretty much gear up your main guy, if not a couple npcs too.
I suppose on PC you could just give yourself some gold, but I'm pretty sure there is nothing to be done on 360....
Anyone else find it weird how broke you still are at level 20+
Gold Problems Anyone?

If you have Black Emporium, Rune of Fortune (and not hording) seems to take care of it.

Runes, as mentioned, but even with them, you won't be able to get more then 1, maybe 2, of the 100+g items floating about. Not without cheating on the dev console.

1.) Get "Valuable Junk" mod
2.) Enjoy not penny pinching every second of the game

Just saw Xbox, my apologies =/

I think they only improve the money drops by 5%. I am following Sabre's guide for Vanguard and he says don't buy anything in Act 1 except necessary stuff. I put the rune of fortune from Black emporium in right away and barely had enough to buy the stuff below and have the 50 gold for the Deep Roads.
< that mod thread listed above looks like too much work to mod a 360 save >
Maybe they will release more DLC that lets you get money. The exiled prince assignments are worth about 13 gold in Act II and 15 gold in Act III.
Act 1
4-5 Makers Sigh potions (The Black Emporium)
Tome of Technique (Hubert’s Fine Goods, Hightown)
Elixer of Technique (The Black Emporium)
Varric Armor Upgrade (Apparel Shop, Lowtown)
2 Backpacks (Robes by Jean Luc, Hightown & Apparel Shop, Lowtown)

I used the gold glitch the first time I played the game and regretted it in many ways - Practically all the best stuff for my mage I bought straight away which was great at first..but then I found it made all the other gear I found and picked up completely obsolete. Soo basically at the start of each act I went round all the vendors and kitted myself out with the best gear..and got really bored. No new stuff, no picking open a chest and going "wow, that new weapon looks ace!" and getting excited about some cool looking armour.
I cheated first time round, because my experience with DA:O was that it never really mattered if you glitched yourself money, as all the best gear was from quests, and the vendors re-stocked better stuff later on. Also, you didn't come into contact with all the different vendors at once, when you went to a different town you would usually stay there and complete the quests and storylines associated with it, so even with infinite money there was always a fresh supply of different gear throughout the game and it never grew stale. But DA2 is not like this, everything is available mostly straight away, and the Black Emporium stocks some of the best gear at the very start of each act.
Second playthrough I decided that I wouldn't do it, no matter what. Its been a mixed bag, it sucks seeing really expensive gear I cannot afford, especially when I know I can own it instantly - but it is worth it because I have used a lot of what I have come across, finding some really cool looking armours, and using some good weapons I wouldn't have used otherwise. Now my character is constantly evolving, I no longer feel like the gameplay is stagnating, and its much more fun. On the other hand, I too am constantly broke!
I just thought I would share this, as it is far too easy to cheat - but be warned, it does have consequences.

I made at least ~550g in one NM playthrough, enough for all stat boosting/talent endowing items, plus Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness, Etched Ring of the Twins, Belt of Promise, and Ring of No Wishes, and had ~55g left over going in The Final Straw. It's probable one can make upwards of 650g in a single game without cheating.

500-600g would be impressive...and plenty I think. I am very thrify about buying only neccesary items like Tomes and armor upgrades. On rare occasions for specific builds I might buy a act 1 weapon but thats not supper expensive. Right now I'm on a warrior plathrough using the new DLC so I'm trying to send like zero money. Mght even forego Attribute and Ability tomes until the very end. Helm of 1000 Bs is too good to not save for. And I thinkthere are some key jewelry pieces I'll need.

Desmona's Blade is a good pick up, usefull till end of act 2
Most of the attribute tomes are just not worth the coin. Ability tomes that are limited to the Act should be your only pick ups.

The link I listed to the xbox mod isn't real time consuming, it is a bit daunting when you read it, but it's not horrible. I don't generally like to "cheat" or use mods, but I like respeccing my characters time and time again, so I found it handy in that respect.
I have used the Rune of Fortune guide and seen an increase in gold from stacking those. But now with the DLC gear, I imagine that helps with not making early game purchases since that stuff is overpowered.

Act 1 - You can make 90~120g, Only with quests and using the same group.
Act 2 - You will get the gold invested on the Deep Roads back, and with a few Better Equip/More Money drop you can make 150~200g.
Act 3 - not finished the second playthrough to present the exact quantity.
This is without any DLC, only DA 2.
Play smart without spending money on pots or runes until act 3 so far. XD Kinda hard, but lots of fun.

Or, do the "put expensive item in junk section, do the Y+A trick, and repeat".

Really.. I could make 2000gold in DAO in 45 minutes, the moment Morrigan hit 14 thats when my wardens get rich.
In DA2, yes I struggle with gold but there is a mod that i just got :Junk* something, that helps alot, oh and get the fortune runes. sell pots that your character won't use.
