What is with the snarky comments. If you cannot have civil discourse why are you here? If someone chooses to praise the game because they like it and explain why they like it, why does that bother some people?
It is an opinion which is just as valid as anyone's opinion.

+10 to Persephone You rock!

Well said. I simply cannot understand this need some people have to invade every positive DAII thread with their vitriol. Yet they get all upset and angry when the "defenders" speak up in bashing threads. (Mildly, at that!)

Sounds like Jabba here has "Kanyewest Disease". It afflicts tens of thousands of forums posters every year.

Its amazing how you sensitive people are so quick to insult and put down the ones you say are doing the very same thing. I'm way older than either of you. But perhaps I misunderstood the purpose of forums, I shall only post in the dislike threads, and you can enjoy your lovey love crazy people thread. And by the way, people who like the game DO have problems with those who don't. They are quite often accused of being pc elitist, trolls, and many other things.

oh goody more people who feel the need to insult others when people say they actually liked, or Maker forbid, loved DA2! I feel so at home.

I loved the game. Some of the changes it made were great, but are still incredibly flawed and need work. To each his own. If someone hates the game, I will not stoop to a level of maturity that is far beneath me by saying there must be something wrong with them.

And likewise, if I personally hated the game, I would not call anyone an idiot for liking it. I would express why I personally did not like it, but never would I insult another person for liking it.

How is it that I am more mature than most people on here when I'm 18? I mean don't get me wrong, I'm crude, vulgar, I joke a lot, I'm lazy, etc..... but when it comes to behavior such as this? Boggles the mind.

I actually thought you found something great, OP.

Glad you liked the game. I liked most of the thing, just felt there's no point to any of it since there's no strong central plot. But, glad you enjoyed it.

I'm not aware of ever having told you my age.

And once again, insults? Are they really necessary?

And no, not all people who like the game call those who dislike it names. It's just as wrong and pathetic. And another thing most adults know: Two wrongs don't make a right. The "They did it first!" argument will only get you so far and fan the flames rather than calming them down.

As I said, I play tabletop RPGs as well, mostly as a GM but I've never been one to delve deep into the strategic aspects of them. So I'm not offended when someone says I don't understand the inner workings (even though I'm quite familiar with a number of tabletop RPG rulesets), if by that they mean I don't know how to use the ruleset to maximal efficiency. I've met countless tabletop gamers who are in it for the thrill of building strong characters and applying the best tactics in fights. Personally, I'm just a different type of gamer. That's probably part of why I enjoy DA2's combat a bit more.

While I don't feel about DA2 as the op, the level of posting exemplified by the haters is deplorable.
Instead of a word filter this forum needs a stupidity filter.
Good post op.

I'll remind you of this the next time you are accused of ID fraud.

I'm glad you got so much joy out of the game, AudioEpics. I wish you many more hours of entertainment, and I mean that sincerely.

Other than that, I disagree with you, but that is simply my personal opinion. There are things in-game that I truly didn't enjoy at all, and, unfortunately, for me it was large chunks of DA 2.

I do agree with you about the companions. They are well written, and the animations and facial expressions are top. Again, unfortunately, there was not enough interaction for Hawke to really get to know them, and get close to (or shy away from) them. I never really *felt* much around them, sadly for me. I also enjoyed Act II, that was fun to play.

I do not hate the game. I don't even dislike it. It's simply 'meh' (as in gloriously average) to me. To me personally, it is saved from me hating/disliking it because I can see the sparkly, delicious goodness of Bioware shining through every once in a while.

Personally, I have one complete play-through, and a second one I simply can't bring myself to finish. She is stuck at the beginning of Act III, poor thing. I've uninstalled, but I'll not delete the save-file. I have not yet given up completely on it, depending on the modders and Exp packs. (I don't buy DLC on principle from any company, that's why I have not included them above).

I am glad that people do enjoy it. There will be no way that I would "slam" anyone who does. I hope you enjoy many more play-throughs, and if you are stuck, or need help don't hesitate to ask for it. There are some wonderful people around here who also enjoyed the game, and I'm sure they'd be more than glad to lend a helping hand.

Sounds like another individual who hasn't noticed that the "majority" of DA II's combat mechanics are the same as DA:O's.

Majority does not equal the same, and no it might have used the same system but it was not tactical even on hard the only time I had to switch my character was during boss fights, and the whole run from the arishok while hitting him ever so often was not a real strategy

Thanks also to those people who didn't like the game as much but still gave friendly replies.

I think a lot of what drives our final opinion of the game is based on priorities. Some think I have low standards for liking Dragon Age II. But I like it more than Red Dead Redemption, which almost anyone will agree is a great game. I too think RDR is great -- I'm just less drawn to its world and its type of gameplay than I am to Dragon Age II.

So when people just reply to your own post, which started this flame, then you are the one who is mistreated? Funny way to look at things... You practically say that everyone who likes the game is demented, and then you accuse people who dislike your opinion as troll etc. As far as I can see, you were the first to go to the personal insults. I do not have a problem with you disliking the game - I have a problem with you and plenty of others insulting the people of the different opinion. As far as you just say "I do not like the game", than there is nothing wrong with what you think. It is the part "and everyone who disagrees with me is an idiot" which causes the flames.

Dragon Age 2 is a blast to play. Its not perfect but I notice the majority games I personally enjoy have some flaws here and there. Hell I find DAO to be about as flawed at DA2, and I poured hundreds of hours into that sucker for several playthroughs. To me Dragon Age 2 gave me more of what I wanted, which is another look into the world of Thedas.

RDR had fantastic characters though. And a wide open world that I just loved riding a horse through.

The story could have been punched up more, but it's all about getting John to his family. And once you get them to the family...wow. That's how you get a player to care about a family. I cared more for the Marston family than I ever did for the Hawke family.

.....dammit! Now I want to play RDR. Thanks!

No need I'm accusing you now, god you are so ridiculous, you sit there and get a guy banned for NO REAL reason, you knew it was a joke, yet you had him banned because you played the part of innocent victim, you also ran out of comebacks to his witticisms too, I think you are actually the worse person out of the two, but hey what are you going to do, report me? Go ahead it only goes to show how censored these forums really are.

Make my day

@ OP - Well written; well said! Continue to enjoy!

As a long time PnP player (currently in hibernation), my thoughts are this is a fine system for CRPG's; not so much for PnP due to compex computations and restricted class and race issues. However, it seems to work well for me in this chosen medium.

I'll leave it up to the Mods to decide whether he deserves to get banned or not.

I do not see anything funny in name calling, harassment and the accusation of ID fraud. You do? Good for you.

Witticisms? WOW.....I thought Jane Austen was witty. Name calling usually isn't.

As for censored.......yeah, this board SURE looks heavily censored. :?
