And this surely qualifies as a definition of maturity. Not.
Are you incapable of voicing your opinions without rudeness, vitriol and name calling?

I don't prefer it per se, but I do think that the series should keep a few things:
- sped up combat, but slow down 2H attacks just a tad
- voiced protagonist, but I think choice should be given as to what the voice is. Picking from a few voice sets and that's the voice you hear in conversations.
- Keep giving companions a home base of sorts, but give more options to talk with them on your own terms
those are the ones that immediately spring to mind.

If he did not call DA2 a piece of crap every time he complained about the game, I would have a heart attack.Persephone wrote...

Tis the eloquence that one expects from the likes of those named Mad, Jabba, and Booger. IMO.
AFWIW - It was I that reported you, lest another catch the fly off the handle berations. FYI

Whoa, whoa. Let's not use each other's user names as insults. That's what started this whole mess, after all.

That she is famous does not mean everyone needs to agree with you. I do not find Jane Austen witty as well, however you may not found other writers I like witty as well. That is how the world works. But If you want anyone take you seriously at not harrasing people about they opinion od DA2, than you should not harass them for their opinion of (fro example) Jane Austin - which is what aou are doing now. I agree with you on DA2 matter but now you are doing the same thing as those DA2 haters you are criticising. jane Austin is not the only famous writer on the world you know.

However, I just choose to imagine that Varric says that. In fact, I found a youtube clip of cut dialogue that had Cassandra addressing the very same issue. Gaps in time.

Oh, I know that not everyone has to agree with me. I'm fine with people liking or disliking Miss Austen's writing. And I also know that Jane Austen isn't the only famous writer in the world. (To cite the example used before, I do love Dante myself. His "Inferno" is a masterpiece)

Also, I agree that the Dragon Age ruleset is clearly meant for a video game and would not match with a tabletop game. There actually is a DA tabletop game and it's quite different.

This sadly happens when a rpg is rushed. Gaider himself stated he did not enjoy the short time he had to write the game. EA needs to relise this fast and not make this same mistaker again. You can't rush a rpg like you can with a shooter. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...
one thing I didn't like were the massive gaps in time. I would've been happy if Varric had told Cassandra "I'll tell you the most important parts about Hawke". That way, it implies that Hawke didn't just sit with his thumb up his ass for 3 years until the Qunari got pissed and then another 3 years until Meredith went bat**** insane.
However, I just choose to imagine that Varric says that. In fact, I found a youtube clip of cut dialogue that had Cassandra addressing the very same issue. Gaps in time.

You are not alone OP. I'm on my 9 play throe and I love the game. I have always hated playing mage in other games, DA 2 is the first game I really enjoyed being a magical guy=). I can even play as a female and that is something I usually don't do. I love the game and the fighting in it. Most of my friends say the same, so here we have a loving DA 2 group^^. Keep playing and enjoying the game for many more hours. It's worth it=D
Lovely post. We really should get this thread back on topic.
WOW, 9 playthroughs. I just finished my sixth and am waiting for Patch 1.03 before I start Nr. 7. In the meantime I'll play some more DAO and rent The Witcher 2.

Also, the dialogue wheel seriously sucks. Why do things need to be paraphrased? Why can't we have what Hawke will actually say, but in a wheel? That way, people who want to read dialogue can read dialogue, and people who don't want to read as much, can listen to the voiced protaganist? I personally would prefer to do both. I like being able to choose what my characters say, and I then like to hear the VA's saying it.
I'm not going to keep going on though, as I don't want to de-reail your thread too much OP. I'm off to play some MW2, still trying to unlock the spinning skull...

David Gaider gives me hope. He doesn't want to let us down. If EA recognized that you can't rush games and actually gave Bioware time to perfect the game, then I wouldn't have such an issue with them. I'd still hate them, but at least they'd have given Bioware what they need.
You can't rush art.

Indeed. He did mention that they are taking their time with story-related DLCs, so that gives me hope. (I want LOTSB quality at the very least!)
