So, here we discuss how good should DA3 need to be in order for you to buy it.

I personally will not buy DA3 on release like I did with DA2.
DA2 dissapointed me greatly with it's uninteresting characters, lack of replay value and it's lack of dialogue options.

I will not buy the thing until I hear some reviews from somebody who has played the game at least 2 times through.
Based on that I will decide wether or not I shall pay the full price or wait for it to be sold at a discount on steam.

What does DA3 need to have in order for you to pay full price for it?
(ok this'll probably be a rant thread :P)

I don't know any specifics on it yet, so I can't answer as to whether or not I would buy DA 3. If the game's art direction, combat style and main character focus follow the example of DA 2, I'll likely not buy DA 2.

Since I enjoyed the first two games, I see myself repeating my previous pattern with DA products: I'll squee a lot when it gets announced, pre-order as soon as the option is available and be standing outside my local game store on release day waiting for the employees to roll up the blinds.

Unless there's some major change I hate the look of, I can't see myself not pre-ordering, let alone not buying it.

It would need to be a lot more like DA:O than DA2 for me to buy it.
And, much as I hate to say it, even if it was more like DA:O, if Mike Laidlaw was lead designer I would have even stronger reservation because he and I seem to have very different views on what constitutes a good rpg.

I don't know honestly.

But I do know that a lot of people will wait to see what has been changed (for the better) and decide to buy it, pre-orders will drop a lot after this fiasco with DA2.

I will buy it but I will only get in day 1 if they give it a longer dev cycle than they gave DA2. Day 1/signature edition dlc will not trick me into getting DA3 day 1 if they hastily pump it out.

If it's a voiced PO, art, and style of DA2, then no, i will not be buying DA3. I will miss the DAU/W, but i will move on to other games.

I won't pre-order it but, if it is a decent RPG, with customizable characters, decent story, and great companions...oh probably. :)

No. If ES-V is anything like ES-III or ES-IV I'll be playing it for years anyway so I won't need a DA3. Not saying I would have really loved to have had a DAO2 and DAO3 though.

Well I still haven't bought or played DA2 so at this point no. Unless we hear some truly exceptional things about DA3 I see no reason to, and no I'm not talking about "the awesome button" quite the opposite in fact.

Also if we don't see the Warden returning to continue his story I doubt it will grab my attention.

Depends what else is around. If it's a slow month I might get it after making sure it's not another DA2 half assed effort.

It's not a debate over DA3 *will/will not* be made, but rather will you buy it; preorder, new, used, rent, later, not at all.

Myself, I'll wait a few months after DA3 comes out and the price drops it into the bargain bin/Steam for $9.99 or so. I'll be in no rush to grab DA3.

Depends on the marketing. You usually get a rough idea on where it's heading from there. If I here the word 'awesome'

....

I'll wait.

The reviews would have to cite features I adore for me to pre-order. I might buy it later depending upon what features it has and the price.

For the record, I like: Increased companion interaction, kissing, romance carry forwards from previous games, Sigrun, Shianni, Aveline, playable elves, playable dwarves, unique maps, talking to npc's, customizable player characters, decisions that change the game and toolsets.

Any talk of improved or enhanced combat will not influence me at all.

I won't be following any of the marketing for DA3, so I'll wait until the game is out, watch some YouTube clips, read some fan opinions, and decide from there. I will not be pre-ordering it. Hopefully it will be a game I'll be proud to say I own and enjoyed. We'll see.
