I'll snatch it up in about a nano-second.

They're quality games from a quality developer. Then again, I can only go by my own enjoyment factor.

What does DA3 need to have in order for you to pay full price for it?

Tali and Garrus returning as full squadmates.

Well Dragon Age 2 just wasn't a very good game so I certainly won't be pre-ordering any Bioware games from now on, because they're no longer a developer synonymous with quality.

I'll probably just wait until Dragon Age 3's ultimate edition goes on sale. Unless of course, Dragon Age 3 turns out to be an exceptional game that drops most of the "streamlining".

Yeh I'll buy it, but BIoware need to be more inventive with the level design.. It started to bug me how often the environments were reused in DA2. I really hope that this won't follow through into DA3.

No. Unless Bioware does the unthinkable and goes back to their roots of designing quality RPG games for PC gamers.

DA 2 was good enough for me. I had a lot of fun with the game.
Sure i`ll buy DA 3 and 4 and so on.

The day I traded in the underwhelming DA2 was the day Osama is killed.... I am starting to think Karma doesn't want me to buy any future DA's

At least until I've read the professional and gamer reviews...

I won't be holding my breath for DA3 if there is one and even so, it will be a while after release before I would seriously think about it. Hate to say it, but there you have it.

The reason I bought DA2 was because of the faster game play. But, I'm not into strictly SP games, even with DLC, expansions, etc because it's too much a one shot experience for me.

What I want is at least the speed of DA2 with NWN2's MP and Toolset, just to start because NWN2 really needs to improve.

I'm already very familiar with the DA style classes. I'm not sure BW will be willing to innovate after the beating they took over DA2.  So, I'm not sure what DA3 will have to offer me.

It depends. If they return the things that are important (to me) for an RPG, I most likely will. But:

No more release day purchases.

I hear so many things floating around that make me uneasy, and doubtful that DA 3 would fit my preferences. I know they are simply rumours, and even if the devs say something right now, that doesn't mean it's written in stone, but it is bothersome nonetheless.

These are very important to me and are what I count as "vital" to me in a RPG:

More companion interaction, especially the romances,
Companion customization
Choices and decisions that matter
No more gofer girl, please. I don't care what story line is picked, but make the PC "mine".
Make sense in the story line (mageHawke *sob*). At least a little, I know you can do it.

The more I read around the forums the more I hear that most of the above will stay as they are. If that is so, then I will part ways with Bioware. I will be sad, but it must be done. They certainly have every right to develop a story upon *their* visions, but I have every right to spend *my* money the way I want to.

I know they don't care about my measly few euros, but I do. However, I will be very sad should that happen.

I do hope they drop the dialouge wheel, fixed protagonist, the ninja waves, and the lack of companion interaction. But I doubt they'll go back to those things now. Especially since Laidlaw pretty much said in an interview somewhere that this is the direction they have set, and that they won't pull a 180. But of course, that's if he's still the lead designer, I assume.

The biggest factor that will influence my purchase of DA3 is probably how I react to ME3.

DA2 was Bioware's least epic game but I still really enjoyed it. If ME3 rocks my universe like I hope it will, DA2 will have been a very minor bump in the road for Bioware. If ME3 is a horrible experience then suddenly DA2 might look like the start of a worrying trend. If ME3 is like DA2 - not quite as epic as I hoped (which is almost impossible anyway tbh) but still enjoyable - then I'll probably give Bioware another chance with DA3.

I won't be paying attention to any trailers or previews or whatever because I'll be in avoid-spoilers-mode.

No, I will go by "ways and means". If I hear its good from reliable sources then I will buy it ,but somehow I highly doubt that it'll be.

If they are planning a November/December 2012 release then it is time to worry. :P

Pre-order? No. I want to know lots about the game before I consider buying it. If they still think that less is more than they'll have to do with less money from me, and I would pick it up when Steam got it on sale.

This.

It really isn't a question of whether I'll get it. It's almost certain I will. It's more a question of when I'll buy it and how much I'll pay for it. I'm perfectly capable of waiting for a game to be remaindered before buying. I've done it before and will likely do it again.

Even though I thought DA2 was rushed and it showed, I still enjoyed the characters and the game enough to replay it more than once, so I clearly don't feel the same as the OP. Will I buy DA3? Probably, unless I am getting a particularly bad impression from a wide variety of reviews close to release. ME3 won't affect my decision-making at all as I'm unlikely to buy it.

Depends. If it's like DA2. I may pick it up when it hits the bargain bin. If it's been improved, then I may pick it up when it hits the bargain bin but may actually keep it as a part of my RPG collection.

If I see the name "Laidlaw" in any part of this game I will run from it like I would from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

That aside, ME3 will be the last "blind buy" that I will do from Bioware. I'm wanting to see a serious renaissance to the old ways before I grab another DA title.

No, I will wait for friend(s) review on how it was, never buy anything just because 'it's bioware' ever again.
And I really hate get sucker punched from 'give this game good rating or else kiss adds goodbye" magazine.
But the problem is my friend(s) also share my opinion, so... who will buy it? >.< ...

Any way assuming it is a good review I think I'll wait a month or 2 after it's release for
a free copy of ME3 (LoL). And yes this is me being sarcastic.

Depends on the game. If I read that they continued on with the DA2 path, then definitely not. If they say they listened to the fans and made some changes. I'll read about the game, Dev interviews and fan reviews. Then I'll decide if it has features I'll like.

But it definitely won't be a pre-order.

I'll very likely buy it, but *when* I buy it will depend upon how ME3 turns out... I know it's a different team but I'll take it as an indication of where Bioware's headed.
If it's inferior to ME2 I'll worry that there's a company wide trend toward diminishing quality (probably due to EA).
If it's a fitting end to the trilogy then some of my fears will be put to rest and depending upon what's revealed about DA3 will determine whether I pre-order or not.

I totally agree.
If they do continue to stay this way then I can only hope that some other dev studio will pick up the demand that EA/BW bailed on.

And oh, I live in USA so it's dollars for me.:D

But I guess I will be having my ears to the rail on the marketing and wait for a few weeks to compare with some reviews to judge the comparison of the two to see if they indeed do match up to it's claims.
If it doesn't then I'll have to pass and wait for a promising new rpg out there.
