It will depend on many things. Is DA3 still a RPG, is Mike still LD, is the writing team largely the same, the direction of the game and when it's announced(anytime after 2011 is a good sign)

To avoid the wall of text I'm not going to quote Sabrina's post again, but I agree wholeheartedly with it.

I play bioware games because I enjoy a good roleplaying experience. I no longer have a tabletop group to play with so CRPG's have to fill that spot. The Baldur's Gate series (particularly BG2) defined the genre for me. I found DAO to be a more than adequate sucessor to BG2.

I'm sure DAO will have a place on my hard drive as a favorite for years. DA2 was fun, but did not fill the role of an RPG very well. Hawke's choices were forced and the companion interactions too limited (and I'm not just talking romance - that's fun, but I enjoy getting to know all my companions, romance or not). I uninstalled DA2 after 2 play-throughs and only just reinstalled it to check some codex entries for a mod (the mod is for DAO). I can't even find enough inspiration for DA2 to play it as a warrior (already played rogue and mage). However, Sereda Aeducan (my 7th DAO character and certainly not my last) has just made it through Lothering and she has several new areas to continue her quests in thanks to the modding community.

So the long answer to a short question is I'll probably buy DA3 eventually, but I'll only pay full price if it looks like Bioware has made another true RPG, not just an interactive movie with different skills you can pick. I might consider a pre-order if there's a toolset with DA3 because then the modding community can supply RPG elements if they are lacking in the main game.

I would like to see the same writers for DA3, just give them more time to flesh things out and find ways to avoid railroading the protagonist into the major plot points in such an obvious fashion. It makes for a longer development cycle and a lot more work, but I love it when my PC has a real choice (Connor/Isolde/demon, elves/werewolves, Bhelen/Harrowmont, ect.)

If I could have Conrad Vernor AND Cullen in my party, I'd pay double.

Of course I will. I'm very curious about what will be EA-Bioware's conclusions. I got to find out.

I feel totally indifferent towards the franchise and it´s story after the second installment and it´s identity crisis.

But who is to say what the next might bring to the table. So maybe.

DA3 will not be out for quite some time. Opinions will change. I'm sure I will obtain it once its out. I'm too enthralled with the story to not find out what happens to my dear Warden and Hawke.

No, I'll buy any game except another DA game, unless they get their act together.

If the metacritic score is > 85 then I'll get it. I don't actually think we'll ever get a DA3 but there that's if we do.

I have great faith in Bioware, so yes, I will be pre-ordering DA3 Signature Version, just as I did for DA2.

I am old and senile, and Dragon Age 2 made me sad. Thankyou, Bioware, for making an old man feel depressed and alone before he dies.

I Don't even think it will be Hawke. I think it will be searching for some missing people. Hopefully we get to go all over the world trying to find them. It would be amazing if they let you use that character and the missing people to kick serious Butt in the 3rd game. So we could go to Ferelden, Free Marches, Tevientor, and Orlails to look for them following leads and also You could chose which Nation you come from changing how each person in a specific country treats you. Something along these lines I would buy.

Of course I will buy DA3. I am excited to see what DA3 changes from DA2. I think DA2 was incredibly experimental, and I think that DA3 stands to benefit a lot from those experiments.

No toolset or completely customized RPG, no game for me.

If anything, the thing that really pissed me off about the ending was Leliana saying, "That is no coincidence!" when there were good reason that the Warden and the Champion are both missing, and none of them are related to each other. The Warden is 1) dead, 2) ran off with Morrigan -- who took him into the mirror and killed and ate him, 3) got wanderlust, or 4) took part in some secret Grey Warden stuff. The Champion is on the run, laying low from all the forces that are out to kill him/her (and I'm sure waiting for an Awakenings style expansion for DA2).

Unless DA3 is Flemeth was purposely picking people to become heroes in order to form some League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though that would go completely against what Bioware said they planned for the Dragon Age series (they aren't going to be sequels).

It depends. If they return the things that are important (to me) for an RPG, I most likely will. But:

No more release day purchases.

I hear so many things floating around that make me uneasy, and doubtful that DA 3 would fit my preferences. I know they are simply rumours, and even if the devs say something right now, that doesn't mean it's written in stone, but it is bothersome nonetheless.

These are very important to me and are what I count as "vital" to me in a RPG:

More companion interaction, especially the romances,
Companion customization
Choices and decisions that matter
No more gofer girl, please. I don't care what story line is picked, but make the PC "mine".
Make sense in the story line (mageHawke *sob*). At least a little, I know you can do it.

The more I read around the forums the more I hear that most of the above will stay as they are. If that is so, then I will part ways with Bioware. I will be sad, but it must be done. They certainly have every right to develop a story upon *their* visions, but I have every right to spend *my* money the way I want to.

I know they don't care about my measly few euros, but I do. However, I will be very sad should that happen.

Just in case the devs are watching, this is what I want as well.  Also, more areas, I got so sick of Kirkwall!
But I'm not going to hold my breath, from what Mike Laidlaw has said, DA2 is the wave of the future, and we're just going to have to look elsewhere for our quality fantasy rpgs.
