hi  guess i have owned da for nearly a couple of weeks now(nz) and have managed to put about 25 hours into it,
what between work, the kids, odd jobs and general life i didnt think this was to bad an effort, until i read about  a guy who said hes put 150 plus hours into the game think hes nearly done, and a lot of other people clocking the game in  two or three days isnt it mean to take  80 hours plus  at least not including everything.
Now  im just wondering how people  do this in such a short time, do they sleep , go to work,, eat, go to the toilet,
or just spend  24 hours a day in front of the computer, still dosnt add up.
Now i reckon this will take me weeks or even months to finish . Am i strange or just normal are these people finishing in a few days gaming genuis or crazy game freaks, i couldnt come close to finishing an rpg in two days
i do like to take my time alittle looking a round but gee i must be slow. im a bit older than 40 might be iit.
So how about you how will it take you  you reckon?Posted Image

I did my first play-through in 47 hours (skipping most of the side quests, I really just wanted to beat the game once before I really sunk my teeth into it). That took me 3 days to manage. Yes, I have no life and rarely left the room. Yes, I had a pack of beef jerky, dorritos, and several bottles of coca cola in my mini fridge. Yes, you can criticize me.

Yes, it really does take being a hardcore gamer to beat such a long game in only a couple days (assuming you don't skip every single piece of dialogue and do a speed run).

Just finished my 3rd character; lvls 20, 22, and now, 23 (barely).  I put in at least 16+ hrs a day for the first 4 days I had this.

I'm in between projects (work), and have a few weeks off, so trying to put in as much time as possible cause I know it's gonna end soon and back to the grind!

;)

ps.  yes, I finished nearly all side-quests (got an achievement) which I guess is obvious if I was able to get lvl 23 LOL!

Hi Warrick13

Im a bit older then 40 too. Dont cheat Yourself to explore the game. Some always go to finish at the shortest time posible. No way am I going for that. I have nothing to prove, and I do entend to explore the game for whatever story is told there.

I dont think You need to prove Yourself either warrick13 . Enjoy the game and do not forget to explore any option in it.

Hey don't worry I have a lot of free time and still haven't beaten it, I have about 26-30 hours logged. It's a single player game no reason to try an beat it quick, there are no raids etc to rush and do.

I freebase Columbian brown, live in my grandmother's basement, and haven't see a naked woman since I put a cam in the girl’s shower room in college.

Also, why are you posting on this forum when you could be playing DA?!

*highfive* A true diehard RPG comrade. :crying: It's an honor.

Anyone who has sat up until ungodly hours to finish that really long and hard quest to get that awesome reward knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about...

Gamer pride.. (and possibly regret.. lol)

It's pretty simple. Some people don't have a job or a family.

Took a week off from work, so I finished it playing about 60 hours in 7 days.

LOL, the thing I am proud about is that I've used ALMOST no help, guides, walkthroughs, etc. to solve MOST of the quests.

There are a few that were too 'unintuitive' to me, too frustrating, etc., so after the 1st play-through, I looked up to see what I was doing wrong with a few of them.

To anyone that does not know...

...THE TAB KEY IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!!

(that alone will solve most quests and make sure you're not missing things and saves SO MUCH time)

I honestly don't see how people tear through the game (IE someone supposedly beat it in 24 hours). I suppose it's possible but I am still on my first playthrough and pushing 70 hours, with only doing the main quest, and some of the side quests, that aren't hub based and a few of the companion quests.

That being said thugh, every moment that I am not at work or sleeping, I have been playing Dragon Age. :P

Well, I took about two weeks to finish the game.

Two week-ends with serious game time (12-14 hours playing a day, 6 hours of sleep, the rest being for "normal" life), and for the weekdays, I made it pretty clear I was not available after 20h (so about 4h30 a day, and I usually could squeeze up to 6h).

Basically, when video game is a passion, you scrounge as much time you can until you finish the game, then you're back to "normal".

Of course, I haven't kids, it helps a lot being able to grab this time :)

LMAO!!!

That's awesome!  (may have to try that one!)  --though having to always read NPC's name and health bar may get tiresome I'd think...?

I thoguht this too, but after 30 straight hours of using my pinky to hold down the Tab key I realized it was either the annoying names or my finger.

I don't think Beertastic "Four Finger"  sounds too good.

I'm with ya man, career, family etc. I'm in no rush to beat the game and probably wont play it over again, atleast not right away.. I always have the game so nothing to stop me loading the game back up in a year during a dry game phase. I'm about 41 hours in and probably half way through or so, maybe a little further. I remember in college and high school being able to play 8 hours a day lol.. such is life.

I have about a 40+ on my first character and only 42% or so completed. I don't have alot of time either, I'll squeeze in a few hours here and there. Friday nights and weekends are best for me.

dang you gamers are amazing. I'm still getting slapped around by the roaring and disgusting-looking Brood"mother." I've done all but Landsmeet once I slap this annoying boss out. Dont have enough healing to keep my tanks alive, Kamakazie fails and anytime an NPC/Hero gets left alone for a moment they do thier hardest to get killed quickly. A cool challenge prior to the guantlet called the "Anvil of the Void." I suppose being a lowly level 15 is the reason I'm getting schooled but my next char wont try this until level 20.

I heard of a guy who took sick leave, and know of another who ha saved his vacation so that he would be able to play.

I have no kids myself, so what I did was go to work, go home, eat and play untill I had to go to bed (slept a little too little). Did almost nothing else than played during the weekends (except for one day that I finally almsot collapsed and slept for 12 hours).

It took me 90 hours.
