Hi

Yesterday i bough: Dragon Age : Origins Ultimate Edition  in Steam... When i type my code at DLC to download the extra packs in the game i seem not to get "Awakening expansion pack..."
Anyone know why? or how i can get it?

Also much of the extra's was hard to install... I had to do this:

  • Right click on the link below and select "Save Target
As", or the equivalent in your browser. Save the .dazip file to your
computer. If your browser tries to rename it to a .zip file, rename it
    back to .dazip after download.
  • Find the daupdater.exe
application. It is usually located under \\bin_ship in your Dragon Age
    folder (for example C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daupdater.exe).
Double click on it to open it.
  • Click on "Select DAZIPs". Navigate to where you have saved the .dazip file and open it.
  • Now the .dazip file will appear on the Install tab. Select it on the list and click "Install Selected."
Only thing i could install normaly was: Witch Hunt, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Leiana's Song, The golems of amgarrak..

Anyway the install thing i got done, but why cant i find "Awakening expansion pack..." anywhere? i though "ok maybe it was installed with dragon age, so i went on login and offcourse logged into my account so all my packs got activated, but when i went on "Other Campaigns". All i found was the exp packs i wrote up here that i could install normaly.

So it sais Ultimate ED should include "Awakening expansion pack" can someone help me? have ive done something wrong? :crying:

[*]And before people say "read this post" etc, ive read most post's at this forum, and tryed what they said, notthing works.. Also ive tryed what bioware themself said to try, and i also have a question to them if they read this, you said " Or if its a DLC code (or this is emailed to you for digital versions). " I had no keys e-mailed to me.. Was 2 keys that i could check on steam, the CD key, and the key saying "Dragon age: origins ultimate edition"  Key, and ive tryed that key on DLC too, all i got then was:  "Code not recognized, please check that you have entered it correctly. " :?

As far as I know, you shouldn't have to manually install the DLC at all.  So this indicates to me that there is some larger issue at play... which is possibly also affecting your Awakening.  Awakening is technically not DLC, it's an expansion pack, but it's treated as such for the purposes of installation with Ultimate Edition.

There are links to previous discussion threads involving both DLC and Awakening problems for Steam users here:

Hi ive read that post didnt help. Well if its a larger issue as you say, its not on my computer.. Its on you DLC then. Since its on YOUR DLC site i need install it this way, Only those i said i could install normaly was "normal" download on, the other just said "More Info - PC" was no download. All i did was register my key on you site. I have mass effect 1 and 2 and had no such problems after register key there..

Ive read all on you link as you post me didnt help. So what now? i dont have any ingame issues, the exp packs i could install works perfectly so does the game. Could you maybe give me some advice that would help me? not to sound rude or anything. But like i said, this is DLC issue after ive register the code..

Have had no problems or errors with the game on my computer..

It's not *MY* DLC... I am a gamer just like you. I am an employee of neither Bioware nor EA. Official support is at support.ea.com.

Then read a little more:

A sticky from the STEAM forums for troubleshooting when Awakening
doesn't show up... applies to BOTH stand-alone and Ultimate Edition:

You have installed Ultimate Edition and you DID NOT have a previous installation of Origins, and Awakening is STILL missing:
http://social.biowar...8/index/6216051

We've
discovered that bad things can happen if you own a previous version of
Dragon Age and install Ultimate Edition without first uninstalling the
original program.  Bad things like not being able to launch Awakening or
authorize DLC.  Fixes are possible:

UE Installed but Awakening expansion pack is missing in action:

Installing UE without installing previous game + mods = headache:

Thank you for trying to help me, but ive gone slowly and tested all of these others problems, yet it didnt help me :\\ Can it be since i have steam installed on E: (gaming station) and not on C: ? i really only use C for windows some programms :\\
Anyway this is way to much struggle for me, i guess ill just play all the other extras and forget about awakenings... Think its very poor to buy a game, register it and basicly follow all steps you need do, and it doesnt work.. VERY disapointed with this game, as im a fan of bioware, this is a major blow for me...

No worries.  I am glad you got it all working.  If I had to guess, it just took a couple of restarts for Windows, Steam, and the game to finally agree on all the registry keys and everything.

Now... as for moving forward... unless you have your heart set on uploading screenshots online or something, I would suggest that you do NOT log into your EA/Bioware account everytime you play.  Doing so can still cause DLC to become unauthorized.  The devs are working on a patch for that, but I think it will be a while before we see it.

Happy gaming!
