Despite all the complaints for this game, I think their sound engineers did a very good job with recording and applying spatial dsp. They didn't give in to the urge to dynamically compress the sound to make it sound more "impactful" or "present" which is done in 90% of audio media today, and I could tell the recording equipment they used was very good, the phase distortion sounded as low as some of the best recordings I have ever heard. All the voices sounded natural due to minimal tampering. The spatial dsp in the song played in Hawke's estate was new to me, very interesting way to mix an orchestra. The end credit song "I'm not calling you a liar" with Florence was the first time I heard her voice without becoming distorted by bad mixing or recording, and that really earns bioware enough brownie points for me not to run around the streets calling da2 a bad game.
They did up the dynamic compression on the downloadable soundtrack though, I don't like it but I guess most people who listen to modern music would prefer it to have similar volume.
Audio quality is excellent
