Except for the last pic everything looks like straight out of a shooter. Hope they focus on the softer side with upcoming screenshots.

I don't think you realize it, but releasing pics of an inventory screen will NOT interest most gamers who've never heard of Mass Effect 3.  That's only for the hard core fans, i.e. all of us who spend time on the game forum scraping for any news

Mmmmhh inventory screen. That would be ...s...e...x...y....but really, any screenshots without NPC xyz wielding a gun would be just as peachy.

I would love to see some exploration pics.

Maybe some pics of the new skill trees or something.

Put kids don't want to see that, so eh.

It is silly how excited just seeing these screenshots (most of which I have seen elsewhere already) makes me. It just somehow helps make the whole thing more real. I still can't get my head around the idea that it's set to come out THIS year. Keep telling myself that even if it's release date slips at least I will have Skyrim and such to entertain me in the meantime,

I completely agree with what you are saying but it still amuses and depresses me in equal measure that the games industry has us so conditioned to expect such a tiny drip feed of images, and whatnot. Aiming much of the hype at only one portion of their target audience. This isn't restricted to BioWare, in fact I've seen a fair few journalists lately complaining at how the industry handles the build up to a big game's (or almost any game for that matter) release.

There isn't really any reason they couldn't use the forums or their own website to show off some screenshots of a new inventory system or other less typically exciting elements of the game that 'hardcore' fans would lap up. Meanwhile it wouldn't scare off consumers uninterested in that aspect as it wouldn't be thrust in their faces.

Screw the newcomers, I want details.

Is it just me or does the statue in the first picture look like it has hair?

I thought the same thing.

You would think they attracted enough new people with ME2.

You know, the most critically acclaimed game of 2010.

They don't have to appeal to larger audience anymore, If they haven't jumped on by now they never will.

These are just the first of many screenshots we are going to see over the course of the next 189 days (not that I am counting).  Naturally with them being the first screenshots they are not going to show us "mundane" things like the inventory screen or the skills tree.

I am sure by the end of the 189 days we will probably all be complaining that Bioware has shown us too much.  Anyway for now I am going to enjoy what is being shown and use my imagination for everything else :D

Then don't post stupid stuff if you don't care to know how it works.

They even have a comic for people jumping in with ME3 to help them catch up. They're counting on it.

True, sure ME 2 sold like 4-5 million units, surely that's considered a massive success, especially in an era where devs are afraid to be creative and just go down the FPS route to appeal to the CoD crowd.

I think it has been confirmed that Anderson will be a captain too. Which is good, because it'd be a little stupid to let an admiral or a councilor fight battles on the ground.

Will enemies use cover? All of them seem eager to run straight to their death. You'd think there are orks inside those armors. WAAAAGH!, right?
