I was just wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint a certain news audio file that you heard on the Citadel in ME2 in regards to Biotics. I was wondering if anyone else had heard it and if they knew which Mass Effect 1 side quest led to it.
The news blip says that most humans now support mandatory registration for ANY human biotic (I think it mentions 50% of the human population supports this law) and THEN it goes on to mention the Alliance raid on Major Kyle that occured in Mass Effect 1.
I only heard it in ONE of my playthroughs and the only thing I know for certain that I did in that playthrough was
1) I let the biotic extremists kill Chairman Burns in the UNC Hostage sidquest
2) I killed all the biotic extremists at that biotic colony and I killed Major Kyle by not letting him have his 1 hour to gather his followers or whatever.
So again has anyone heard that newsclip and if so do you think it ONLY occurs if you end up killing Major Kyle in Mass Effect 1 or was it the combination of the 2 different sidequests?

yeah, it sounds like those sidequests caused human biotics to be feared and such.
in my game i get news reports about reparations to L2 biotics and i took the "good" path for both of those sidequests, though i dont remember major kyle being mentioned in it at all.

^^Yeah that's what I got for 7/8 playthroughs. But I decided to do 1 playthrough where I messed up on the Hostage situation and the Major Kyle situation to see how that impacts the 2nd game out of curiosity and I was shocked to see the results.
I only did it cuz Kaiden died in the playthrough otherwise I would have made the decision to help the biotics...
Anyways I was just trying to figure out if it was 1 mission in particular or the combination of the 2 that did it..

lol, this thread inspired me to go do the major kyle mission right before ilos. i was going to skip it but i decided not to cus of this thread.

Let me know if you decide to completely wipe out him and his followers please.
Also if you haven't done the Hostage situation I'm wondering if you'd like to experiment a bit with me. SAVE the diplomat on the committee but kill Major Kyle and his followers.
Then when you import that file to Mass Effect 2 tell me what news blips you get regarding biotics....if thats too much to ask though I understand.

I just heard the news clip. I was unable to persuade the biotics to spare Chairman Burns, AND I got Major Kyle killed. I've killed Kyle before, but spared the chairman, and didn't hear it in a playthrough, though I've only had Chairman Burns die once before this, and I saved Kyle, and didn't hear it either, though I may not have been paying much attention.
