(Please avoid any spoilers. I notice most threads here are nothing but spoilers :)
Well, I played a few hours of ME2, and I am restarting due to a few issues with my class choice. Before I do my new runthrough, I wanted to ask a few questions, hoping the nice people of these forums can help me with :).

Ammo :: Is there any way to get more. I mean I see the odd "ammo" upgrade for sale, but I am wondering if, later in the game you find more of these for the same weapon. I'd like to think, at some point, I don't run out of ammo for three of my gun's in each gunfight, requiring me to scavange everything around :).

Waves :: How often do 'multiple' waves of enemies show up in gun fights? I'v only had a couple major gunfights in my short time playing. It seems it's only the major fights that have dozens of people constantly just running out of nearby rooms at my ass. I'd just like to know how often this type of thing occurs, so I can be ready to NOT waste all my ammo on the first wave.

Later Weapons :: The way weapons are handled is so different from ME1 and i'm sort of lost. I'm not sure if there are any weapon stats... (if so, i'm retarded and couldn't find it). I am wondering how you tell which weapon's are better, and how often you come across new weapons to equip to your team. It seems like ME1 went from "TAKE MOAR WEAPONS" to "TAKE NO WEAPONS!", lol. I am wondering if their is some middle-ground, because I only found two weapons in my first 8 hours of gameplay.

Skills :: Well in ME1, you started off with most of your skills, if not all. I am noticing you only actually start with 4-5 skills. I am wondering if their is every any more, or if it's just the basic's this time around.

Thanks for any help on these questions :)

There are weapon stats, just not something you can see all the time.
Mass effect wiki has all the answers for them.

If u want more ammo... just... aim more... and pick up more of those giant ammo clip cylinder grey/red things that fall on teh floor when you kill people.

Ammo: You can get some additional ammo from an armor upgrade as well, I believe. I'd suggest trying to make your shots count a bit more. Don't spam shots from far away when you can take cover from a spot closer to the enemy and do more damage/miss less.

Waves: It's been a bit since I've played through but I never felt overwhelmed by waves. Usually though the "back" of the line will reinforce the "front" 1-2 times per major firefight.

Weapons: The mass effect wiki is your friend, because the in game system doesn't tell you much about your very limited weapon selection. There aren't many guns in this game.

Try looking through this.

Skills: That's all you get. Most of the lack of skills comes from the lack of weapon proficiencies and trimming of passives. Still roughly equal on active abilities.

Ammo: SMGs and Shotguns have an upgrade at some point (after getting 3 damage upgrades) that gives you more ammo in reserve and more ammo per thermal clip pickup. Otherwise, there aren't really any GOOD ways of increasing your ammo. You might also consider using squadmate powers efficiently. Your own powers, such as Adrenaline Rush, can also help boost ammo efficiency.

Waves: Quite often I'd say. Sorry. I still don't think it's nearly as bad as DA2 in that regard. Quite often though, you are able to pick up extra ammo during fights. Some areas have respawning thermal clips.

Weapons: Check out the Mass Effect Wiki perhaps for comparisons. There is only really one weapon in the game that directly upgrades another (is better in every way without debate), and that's the Widow. Otherwise there is quite a bit of debate. The Firepower Pack weapons are a bit overpowered, but you need DLC to get them.

Skills: You get to choose a bonus skill later in the game. Otherwise, that's it.
