Agreed. The slowness of warrior attack did bother me- hence one reason I stuck to DW warriors and rogues for my melee characters- but I went back and played some Origins this weekend and I still prefer the combat there. All they needed to do was speed up the warrior attack a little and make pathfinding during attack more responsive. All in all, the sense of weight behind your attacks and the Origins finishing moves make combat more satisfying.Sabriana wrote...
No, it's not just you. I agree, it should be increasing with level. The attack speed, I mean. Personally, I think the combat needed only tweaking, not an overhaul.
The warden shuffle needed to go away. It needed a bit of a speed up, however, speed up both, the PC and party, as well as the attackers. Not just the PC and party. I've only played one complete play-through, I can't force myself to finish my 2nd. But I did have the distinct impression that the attackers in DA 2 moved at the same speed as the attackers in DA:O. Or close to the same speed.
I do like the new mage attacks in DA2, however. I'd keep those.

"Because most of the changes I see made to DA2 weren't complaints that came from fans: they were complaints made by critics or more casual gamers."
That's is what I wanted to know back in late February when I played the DA demo. WTF happened to my Dragon Age? Who is responsible? I started searching the web site and this place kept coming up for discussion purposes. Naturally I blamed this place and felt I needed to get my voice onto this site in hopes to return DA to the classic rpg genre. And after two months here I've come to realise that it wasn't the people on this site that changed DA, for most here were against any of the changes that was being leaked out leading up to DAII's release.
I've now come to the conclusion that the Dragon Age series change was decided well before Dragon Age Origins was even released back in 2009. They were going to mass market their Mass Effect formula with a different fantasy skin over it.
I've also noticed that a lot of those that posted last summer and fall on here don't come around anymore.

It's good you dislike DA2, since you'll likely get banned from playing it as well as from the forums, for expressing your discontent. For the record I agree with you wholeheartidly.
