Bioware fan ? Yes. I said loot of bad things about Dragon Age 2 because i didn'y like this game. But:
1. I own probably all Bioware games that they release (now, ME2 and DAII included because they sell it cheap on holiday - if not then probably i would pass this titles)
2. I like Bioware games. Sometimes I'm returning to play KOTOR for example. They are not perfect but often better than most of RPG out there. Probably only cRPG that i like more than BW games are Fallout 1 and 2, Gothic 1, Arcanum and The Witcher.
3. I'm waiting for SW: TOR and cant wait to try it.

Loyal fan ? Probably. They earn mu trust until Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2. Mass effect was not so bad because this game is more a shooter than anything. That's why i pass without a word all this changes in the game.
But Dragon Age Origins was good cRPG and they make crap called DA II. I was disappointed seeing changes ME -> ME2 but i was terrified when i saw what they do in DA II.

Until now I was buying their games using pre-order. I could buy this way DA II but they release a demo (thx for that one to BW). Now i know that i will buy their next few games after:
- seeing gameplay on youtube
- reading about it
- playing demo
- getting feedback from here or friends.

If they next games will improve then i will come back to pre-ordering their games. Right now nothing like this will happen in near future.

Still I'm consider myself as a loyal fan. Loyal fan do not agree to everything subject does. Loyal fan stay with company, loyal fan will rise his voice if he love/hate something abut product. Loyal fan give feedback to the subject and see how things go.

But if Bioware want to continue their path of destruction then go ahead. Make shooters and slashers. There are few rising stars on the market that will fill holes with their cRPG games. CD Project Red is good example. Just don't wake up on the market when yours shooters and slashers cant win against Diablo, Call of Duty and Battlefields and yours cRPG are not cRPG.

Until now Bioware was a company where i knew, if i bought a game i would have something to entertain me for quite some time. DA2 really ruined that, no more preorders from me. Now i'll wait and see before thinking of buying another Bioware game/dlc.

I don't know if I was a loyal bioware fan. What is certain is that I continue to trust Bioware, though I am more critical, whereas before I had a blind trust.

I want to continue the adventure with them, but if I see they have not been receptive, devoid of any willingness to take the right direction, " loyalty " will disappear. The most important thing for me, and that shows they have respect for their customers, it that they no botch their game any more. A finished game is a finished game.

But anyway, the concept of loyalty doesn't really apply between a customer and a seller. If the customer isn't satisfied, he goes and no buys any more, it's simple.

Bioware hasn't also real loyalty to his true fans, he also sometimes abused them, ignored and even despised. ( fans did the same, yeah ) They have shown sometimes they were more interested in their sale than fan's love...Which is normal of course.

In short, each side has demonstrated that loyalty doesn't really exist.

But love and harmony may occasionally arise between us.

Like a football team. The relationships eventually drift apart. the atmosphere can become choppy in defeat, but the opposite during a series of victories.

I consider myself to be a loyal BW fan. I love their games so I preorder them and buy the merchandise etc...

Whilst DA2 wasn't perfect, I still preordered the game. I still played the game and I still enjoyed the game. I'm waiting to see what they release now in terms of patches for it and DLC.

To be honest though, after all the negativity around DA2 I can't imagine they would make the same mistakes again.

Loyal fan .. no, silly question.
I have not bought every tittle they've made, but have bought all DA:O and ME games and many dlc.
I've owned on release all BG's across platforms, but the lineage of those are too complex to say bioware made them.. at least not the current bioware.

I'm a loyal fan of a game tittle, but not a company.

To change this all it would take is quality control.
I understand that every game on release will have bugs, what I don't understand is the reluctance of a company to fix them given years to do so.
With many patches, expansions and dlc to compile the issues being released that could have also fixed original / new errors.
Bioware is not the only one, it is a problem of the industry.

To make me loyal fan of a company a finished and complete product which has support is all I'd need in return.
Then I may buy every game they release just because I know I can rely on quality.

An example of a manifestation of blind confidence, which may resemble a form of loyalty.

I loved Dragon Age, my friend said " Do you know Mass Effect ?" it is the same than DA in the future and this game was created by Bioware. "

I have not even looked at the reviews, I just bought the game, thinking it would be wonderful since it was a bioware game, and that the game would be or course quality. And I was not mistaken. :D

Loyalty is an odd word when it comes to transactions. If I play a couple of games I enjoy from a particular developer I'm much more likely to keep an eye open to if they are making anything new. Otherwise I just check the online release calender and buy for the month.

It used to be I could order a Bioware game and be quite sure I was getting something of high quality even if it was not quite what I wanted (ME2 for example). DA2 on the other hand screams corner cutting and "phoning it in".

Because of the 180 of DA2 Bioware is back on the only purchase after scrutiny list. Although the ME3 preview in PSM3 this month is rather nice. But the whole "missing" auto attack debacle still means no pre-order.

I'm a fan of many of Bioware's games, although not so much DA2. I enjoy hanging out on the Bioware forums, and I'm always interested in what their employees have to say when they post here. I wouldn't use the word "loyal" since that doesn't really convey much to me in this context.

I like their games a lot but I don't blindly support them.  I'm a consumer and I buy their product, I'm not their buddy.

I suppose it all depends on your definition of fan.  Fan = Fanatical devotion or Fan = Enjoy their products?

This, I consider myself the latter

I'm not a fan of anything except GRRM and AC Milan :D. Out of those contexts  I hate being labelled as a fan.

But I've bought and played each Bioware games. I like their RPGs and I think that they have been the best developer in the genre in the last 10 years. So, if I have to choose between 2 or 3 games, Bioware have my priority as a customer.

So, I would describe myself as a loyal customer. What I expect from them as a loyal customer of their prouducts? Quality, service and "fun" (I mean fun in the broadest sense). If one of their games does not meet my expectations in those 3 fields (and DA2 was not the first: I had similar issues with NWN OC and Jade Empire) I can express my criticism here (trying to be as constructive as I can) but that's all. I will probably buy their next product because there is something in the formula of their games that push my awesome button of joy ;).

I've been a loyal fan since KOTOR. I just love their games.

One more of the DA2 quality though, and I'm done.

i consider my self fan due there games are fun and semi devotion, i don't buy every title, but having been playing there games when microshaft was ruling them gave them some freedom, now that there under ea it seem there being rushed i just pray Me3 is good i loved dragon orgins did not like awakenings was to damn short to be called a expac and i did get most there dlcs for it...

now for da2 i like the game there are some problems that can be fixed with simple patch{which there trying to do} i am more of story person although i enjoyed the story of da2 it did feel that there is going to be expac to show what happens after kirkwall the story not been fully told.

i will say this if bio ware could get under a solo studio and not have to be told they have to rush their titles i think we would be much happier in the long run but bioware has me and i dont want to let go hehe

I am not loyal to any company, though I may buy a certain company's products more than others from a quality perspective. Since this is about gaming, I have almost always had good experiences with Bioware games. After BG1 &2 and NWN, I began buying their games and even pre-ordering them and was happy, until now. I still will buy their games, but now it is wait and see mode from now on. I don't fault them for this game, I only fault the game for not being what I thought it was as a sequel and advertised as such; I have learned my lesson. I am hoping they keep making great games for everyone to enjoy though, not just for me, as not everyone can be pleased afterall.

As far as your Bioware owing me anything, they don't. They are in the business of making games and they can make the games in the fashion they think is best for their business. In the end, it comes down to sales. If I don't like the game from player reviews/demo experience, no sweat off my back as I won't buy it, and if the game sells well in despite my lack of interest, than it is a win/win for both parties.

Yes. Am. Are.

DA2 was their first blemish.

If it isn't their last, we may part.

But its one on a very VERY impressive list of many.

I count ME 2 and DA 2 as significant departures from the sort of game that I like to play. I don't owe Bioware any loyalty and the reverse is true. If they decide they want to make their games more 'streamlined and accessible' by all means let them do it, it's just without my purchase. Which is one purchase. But if enough people think like me then perhaps they'll rethink their direction and start making games that I like again, and then I can safely purchase a Bioware title.

There is little to consider beyond the practical here. If DA 3 becomes a solo hack'n'slash featuring Hawke/Hawkette facing down hordes of Templars/Mages/Qunari/Darkspawn/Deranged Lizardmen, then I'll just be happy with Diablo 3.

I like Biowares games certainly, but I stop short at blind loyalty to any games company. If the game is one that appeals to me, i'll buy it. The name on the box means nothing. Bioware have made some of my all time favourite games, and that certainly makes me take notice of anything they do. But if the game doesn't really interest me that much, as both Dragon Age titles haven't, then i'll hold off buying right away. Loyalty is an expensive thing at £40 a pop - better to read up on games first before spending the cash, no matter who the developer is.

I used to be a loyal Bioware fan, aka pre-order, no-review necessary. Bioware games are practically the only games I play.

I bought a 360 for the sole purpose of playing ME1 and ME1 was everything I would have hoped it to be. And then ME2 dropped and I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth... Gears of War, wack a mole game play, and oversized gigantic bosses, and the trajectory of consolization was in full swing... DA:O redemption! DA2 Damnation!... I am going to really struggle with whether I care to pre-order or even play ME3... and if ME3 fails to impress I think I will write off Bioware altogether and sell both of my consoles...

So no I'm not loyal anymore. Bioware's futile attempts to please all audiences has cost them my feverish support and blind pre-orders.

Loyal? Before Dragon Age: Origins I never knew BioWare existed. (Okay I knew, but I didn't care.)

I'm a fan, but I'm more of a loyal fan of good games. Good games will always get my dollar/vote/1stbornchild/etc.

I have bought so many games..
I do not think am loyal to bioaware, I bought NWN: horde of underdark edition and I didn't like it, wasn't intersted in Jade empire and didn't buy it, I got DAO and fell in love with thedas.
I like DAO and DA2 so yes, i'll stay with them until I get bored of their game.
If they stop making fantasy games, then I'll go somewere also simple as that.

If they keep making DA games and stuff, I'll buy them.

Note: I have been with blizzard since diablo, got World of warcraft and all the collectors and toys.. so to bioware I have the money, do you have the time?

No. I'm a fan of great games - Mass Effect, DAO and Mass Effect 2 were great games, so I enjoy these forums because the same developer made them. I won't just buy games they make if they're not very good though (at least, not after DA2, where I made that mistake).

Yes, I think I can say with confidence that I am. My whole video game collection almost only consists off BioWare games and I have a few posters and one Dragon Age standee in my room. I also never miss a release.

I do love BioWare very much <3

I've played most of Bioware's games over the years and enjoyed them all for the most part. There have been some that I enjoyed playing more than others, those games just seem to suit my tastes more, but I always look forward to seeing what Bioware has in store for me next. They are the only company that I pre-order from, all other games I buy used. If there ever comes a time when I feel like I no longer enjoy their games then I will no longer buy their product. That hasn't happened yet, so until then I suppose you can label me a "loyal Bioware fan."

If I were restricted to 4 games this year they would be DA2, The Witcher 2, The Old Republic, and Guild Wars 2. (in fact, I think those ARE the only 4 games I'm buying this year) Two of those are Bioware games, and I decided I'd purchase TOR - sight unseen - the day it was announced.

Bioware does a lot of things right in the crpg business, if you ask me, and they are one of the few companies whose storytelling I always believe in. Does that mean I can't like other companies as well? Of course not! The first Witcher game really impressed me, and things are looking really promising for the second, so C Projekt Red has really muscled its way into my sights and as such I'll be keeping a close eye on what they continue to produce. NC Soft has tried a lot of things and proven it is a company willing to take chances, which means - while I don't buy everything they produce - I certainly keep a close eye on them and have enjoyed the games I did buy very much.

So, yes I am a loyal BW fan, but there's no ring on this finger; we're still allowed to see others.
