Depends on your definition of "loyal" and "fan".

Will I buy/love anything just as long as it has the Bioware Logo on it? No.

I hated Awakening (Their worst RPG yet IMO), NWN was a snooze fest and BG1 bores me to death without Mods. (The BG Saga is kept alive by Mods IMO)

But Bioware has made some of my all time favorite games or had a hand in making them. (The Witcher) I adore DAO (Modded!), the BG Saga (Modded!) and DAII: I love JE and still hope for a sequel. The ME series is the only one of its kind that made me get through a game with Shooter/Science fiction aspects. (Well, except the ANCIENT "Dune") ME2's Launch trailer still gives me shivers every time I see it.

If there is one thing where Bioware has always managed to draw me in, it's the writing and its characters. That is why they are my favorite developer. Maybe being an old timer adventure fan has something to do with it. (Sierra used to be my Bioware before) Even though I've enjoyed RPGs for as long as I can remember. I still love the Might & Magic Series.

So am I a loyal Bioware fan? Yes, I think so. I want them to thrive so they can make more games for me to love.

BioWare fan? Oh, you could say that, hah!

It's been a running joke with me for years that I light the candles on my BioWare altar, sing the praises to my Canadian Gaming Overlords, yadda yadda. Yep, I was a BioWare fangirl through and through. I bought their games because they never let me down, I always enjoyed them, and I trusted (yeah, I'm cringing now) that they wouldn't let me down with DA2.

They did let me down, though. Partly because I was expecting something more along the lines of DA:O, since it had that lovely '2' on the end. I wasn't expecting DA:O part 2, but I was expecting it to be more RPG and less utterly mindless action grinding. Maybe if it wouldn't have been 'DA2' and maybe if it had been advertised properly, my expectations would have been different and I could have enjoyed it for what it was, instead of hating it for what it is not. It would have still probably been my least favorite BioWare game, but I wouldn't have felt that my trust was abused.

BioWare isn't the only gaming company I'm a fan of, but it was the only one I joked about having an altar to. Well, I suppose I am still joking about that altar...but now the joke is that it the altar is covered in a black mourning shroud. No clue how long that one will last.
