Reinstalled DAO, Steam version. I have my Steam folder on a separate hard drive from the one Windows is installed on. In-game, all DLC says unauthorized. I downloaded the files manually from Bioware's website, and when I try running them they say I need to first install DAO (which is already installed). I tried moving the file to the DAO directory on the hardrive on which it is installed, and that made no difference. Only one DLC file was able to install properly, and that was Return to Ostagar (which I downloaded as a dazip file and used the DA Updater to install it). However, this DLC still says unauthorized in the in-game list. Reinstalling the game onto the same hard drive as Windows had better not be the only fix, or I will be very disappointed with Bioware

Does the DLC you want appear in the game under the "Installed Content" tab? If that's the case, they are installed, but not authorized. So reinstalling them may not help. You need to get the DLC authorized... and there are plenty of threads that address that, including some linked in the solutions roundup pinned towards the top of the forum.

Yeah I looked in the roundup you mentioned (in fact I went there from a link you'd provided personally in another thread) and I've tried all the advice in those threads. Still no luck. It might be worth mentioning my copy of DAO is not the latest ultimate version, but the SE version that released when the game was new. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Just a quick update: I downloaded the patch, and it will not install because it can't find the game data. I also cannot install my Awakening disc for this reason. I feel like whoever writes the programming or whatever for these patch and expansion files should include an option to point to where the game data is located if it is not installed in the default location. It seems that the expansion and patch files only look for game data in a default location, and if it is not found it just gives up and assumes the game isn't on the machine at all. That is just ridiculous, and I hope it is not the case.

I'm also emailing Bioware tech support about this, and they sent me these instructions to follow:

- Shut down Dragon Age:
Origins

- In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'

- In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder

-
Navigate to 'C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\All Users\\\\Application
Data\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

- Navigate to 'C:\\\\My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: Origins and log in

For Windows Vista/Windows 7 - C:\\Users\\All Users\\Bioware\\Dragon
Age\\

- Navigate to 'C:\\My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in

I followed them, and now my game doesn't show any DLC at all. None is installed (as expected) none is available to download, none is available for purchase. I made sure I am logged into my account.

Reboot, load the game, make sure the service is running... and let it sit for a few minutes. You can try to force the issue by refreshing your Bioware points on the "Available Content" tab.

Sir that seems to have done the trick. All the DLC started downloading after rebooting my computer. I will attempt to install Awakening and hope that will go through, too. Thankyou for your time and effort.

Remember that once you install Awakening, you'll need to apply patch 1.04 again.  I suggest rebooting after *that* to make sure everything applies properly.

Witch Hunt (and maybe Golems of Amgarrak, not sure) require patch 1.04... if they complete downloading and try to install before you've done Awakening/patch 1.04, you may need to install them again.

Thanks for the heads up. Awakening did install without problems, so I will check the version to make sure it is all as it should be. Thanks again. For someone I assume isn't being paid to help with tech support, you handled this situation far better than the ones who are (chat techs).
