i'm playing ps3 version.
playing as soldier, i picked commando uprade. i noticed that the 50% storm speed multiplier
isn't working.
i timed the time it takes to run across 4 "tiles" with/without the upgrade
obviously there is a reaction error in measurement but my point is it's nowhere close to 1.5 times-faster thing...
so is it just an error on ps3...... or what is it?

Try sprinting when someone shoots a rocket at you, the time dilation effect will be noticeable, or watch an automatic gun's rate of fire slowdown. You can even hear the sound distortion if you sprint when someone talks.

The storm speed works. It is very extreme on soldiers, which is why I don't particularly feel wanting when playing that class over Vanguard.

oh, ok.
it's just, when you look at some of the infiltrator guides on this forum, they say, "wear armor (stimulator something) that gives you 10% storm speed boost so that you can utilize the time you activate the tactical cloak" or something like that....
my point is if the storm speed simply slows down time so that you don't get hit as much while running, why do infiltrators need that, cause they dont get hit at all while they are invisible.....
so i assumed that it makes you run faster.
and when you said "It is very extreme on soldiers" did you mean it works too well?

Cloak only lasts a limited amount of time. If you can can run faster, it's easier to get around while cloaked. I don't really think it's worth paying much attention to those armor pieces though.

I think he meant that it is only really noticeable with Soldiers.
Anyway, I don't think the storm speed bonus affects Shepard (or TC duration to be accurate). This can simply be a misunderstanding of how the storm speed bonus works.
Plus all of the leg pieces except the HW ammo pack are darn ugly, so I wouldn't consider it as a valid advice.

yeah, that's my point. i know cloak only lasts for 6-8 secs but storm boost doesnt make you go "faster," hence, you cover the same distance in same time which makes storm boost useless for infiltrator in that sense.
anyway, i just realized what you guys meant with time slowing down when running.
just WOW.
i ran with adrenalin rush on...... the bullets are literally standing still in the air.... quite a sight.

The stim legs make you Storm 10% faster... "Storm" in ME lingo = running... Ergo, stim legs = faster running.
Notice that in time dilation the game world slows but Shep moves the same... Shep WILL run farther and faster with the legs on and yes, this means you'll get more mileage outta TC this way.

True. I've just gone through the whole game plus DLCs (except Overlord) with an Infiltrator though, and even with Assassin and Assassin's Cloak, I never really felt that I needed more duration on TC.
But it depends a lot on playstyle. Perhaps if you want to be able to cross the whole battlefield in one go so you can use your shotgun and you don't feel like picking Agent or Enhanced Cloak.
In a lot of the maps though, you can move quite far without getting hit, and you only really need Cloak for the last bit.

so, let's say i run for 4 secs (on my watch) with cloak on.
technically, i only have 2 secs more of the cloak, but the game thinks (let's say) only 3 secs have passed since the time slows down when i run, hence i have 3 secs more of the cloak.
is that what you meant?
if it is, i guess storm speed boost is kinda useful with infiltrator.

God I hate the storm speed in ME2. It is like in order to make the soldiers storm speed bonus useful they made the normal storm speed absurdly slow. I go from my jog into a slightly faster jog, and after 20 feet I'm winded. Hell I'm in better shape and I avoid aerobic exercise at my gym. But I guess 10% helps a bit for your infiltrator. I never had an issue as an assassin infiltrator, but I guess I use it differently than those who think it is a good set of leggings.

It's a game balance thing, but really, try running really hard with a few pounds of gear on ya sometime. =)

I have many times in my youth(early 20's). I used to backpack a lot and that is around 40lbs of gear when you are just going for a weekend. Even after hiking for hours I could run faster and longer than shepard does in ME2. At least in ME1 the run speed was fast in combat, even if it was for a short time.

^lol, ME1 storm speed is like what? 40-50 kph?? Unreal.
ME2 Shep is maybe a a bit slow though, esp. given he's a cyborg and whatnot.

i've read it on a the ME wiki page that on ME3 we can jump over barricades without taking cover on it first. i hope we can do some simple parkour moves along side with faster storm speed. cause slow parkour doesnt look dope...
