I've scoured the steam forums and the bioware forums and even googled all to no avail, I've found one similar thread with my problem this, so don't direct me to it (it's solutions didn't help).

Installed, registered*, launcher opens, click play, launcher closes.. that's it.
No display it's thinking to load actual game, no error screens, no nothing. Launcher just closes and that's it.
Ran both exes in redist dir, same. Changed launcher and actual game exe to 'run as admin' and not, no change. Installed latest physx & drivers. Verified files via steam. Force started the DA affiliated service, no change.

Appologize if I missed over my answers due to improper search string, but never found anything that got results.

Specs & Etc:
here ya go, it's a lil messy
or:  Win764bitPro - 9600GT (270.61)(09.10.0514 PhysX)

PROBLEM SOLVED, SEE BELOW:police:

The site's own "Search" was created as a badly broken, amateur attempt, and never improved upon.  It's total crap.  Use a real search, then add the site: redirector to point it back to here.

site:social.bioware.com

Personally, I can make nothing of what I would have called "a lot" messy if I can't get useful data from it with just a glance.

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

P. S. Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

I previously forgot to mention that the majority of nVIDIA's drivers newer than 197.xx seem to "break" this game for the Geforce 8n00 and 9n00 cards. Not all of them, exactly, but generally most. And that problem had already begun sooner than that for the 7n00 generation.

If you scoured the very messy xml dump, which were the contents from the DA:O launcher 'configure' settings.. you'd have most your answers. I understand you didn't want to go through the mess of deciphering it all and I was far to annoyed to break down my system initially.
HOWEVER..
My problem was solved after a quick 'live chat'. All I had to do was mod the affinity on the launcher.exe

For whoever also runs into the same problem, I'll explain the fix.
From the processes tab under task manager you must change the affinity of DALauncher.exe.
0. ctrl-alt-delete or (run:services.msc) an go to processes tab (make sure laucnher is running, durr)
1. left click on launcher.exe
2. choose 'modify affinity'
3. make sure only CPU 0 and CPU 1 boxes are checked
4. click ok
5. restart *optional, i didn't.. but you should just cuz
6. should be good to go

mod or whoevers can lock this
