Hey guys! Just wanted real help with the Arishock Im fighting. Im a Rogue, at level 15, and I have Fenris, Anders and aveline with me. I suck at it so much that I have had abour 4 days trying to kill this git lol <_<

It's a bore now. If I duel then there is no way to defeat him, cause he won't give me the bloody chance to stand up . . and if I refuse and my team fight him, all his guards just kill us (Especially those eletric Qun's)

I've just been new to DA and found them both brilliant, but it's making me real angry now. I need help peeps :( Or infact I need a pro to help this woman here xD Any thoughts?

I was so close to killing him with Fenris just a minute ago but he was too strong and did that 'spinning round' thing. :( I need alot of help! Posted Image

I killed him solo as a rogue. The key to this was simple: LOTS of stamina and health potions, and lots of hit and run tactics. Run around him, wait for him to use an ability, stab him with 1 or 2 powerful moves, and then run away until they're off cooldown, then rinse and repeat.

You will get hit, you will get hurt, but he shouldn't be able to 2-shot you, should take 3-4 shots. The key here is to do a LOT of dodging. He'll heal himself from time to time but I've heard he only has a limited number of pots. It took me over an hour to beat him by myself.

Your very lucky then. I have 5 health potions and about 11 stanima all the time. . But he still always beats me :(. . Thankyou though, I shall try and avoid and keep those attacks coming. This is the only dissapointing thing for me. . I can't get far. Only if I beat him. . Wish me luck =\\. lol.

I don't really know anything about rogues, but if you're going to reload a previous save so you can buy more health potions, you might want to buy some combustion grenades as well. These do a reasonable amount of damage, but more importantly, they will stun the Arishok. You may also want to buy some poison... preferably the one that causes him to lose speed, but the one that causes him to do -15% damage is also nice. I am 90% sure that poison works on him, but don't quote me... I have no idea if it did or not, but I think it had an effect...

Don't worry. It is alot of help. Im just so stupid, because you see, I saved it two times. . I wanted to see what reacion i did if I let Isabela take the relic back, but whatever option you do? You STILL fight the Airshock. . I dont have bombs nor that much :( Therefore I cant go back. My last save is when I first brought my house :s. . I know its stupid of me. But I will try and win this time :( Just keep dogding and keep fighting.

Since you have hardly any potions, I'd just ran around LOTS and only use you most powerful abilities. (This is if you try solo) I spent 3/4 of the fight just running away O.o

Eh... well okay, here's a tip you can use. If the Arishok impales you, hold right so that you run out of the way of his follow-up attack once he puts you down. Left might work, but right always works for me... sadly, rogues are so different from warriors that I don't know what else to say. Backstab him and then run, maybe?

Lol thanks for that. Although one time I was running and I got stuck in the bloody wall, He rammed into me and killed me dead lol. . See that was another glitch! i already posted my Mass effect glitch on another forum. . Why does all this bad luck happen to me?

lol Anyway, thanks for all this, It's just a coward option I have then, run and avoid. :) xPosted Image

Yes I i know, do not seem to think your failing with helping me lol The warrior is indeed the best, but I picked the Rogue and yes. . . I think quickly attacking him and then avading will be good. And what do you mean by holding 'right'?. . . :s Posted Image

Hold the direction... if you do it before he puts you down after the impale, his follow-up attack is easy to dodge.

Cowards are good! Cowards live longer! I avoided walls cause the same thing happened to me. Instead I did figure eight thing around the two posts, I also like to think my Hawke screamed really high pitched the entire time...

Haha! Same! Mine wouldn't stop yelling. Although Hawke does that constantly when you attack etc. But i will try and avoid, avoid and then attack. His health bar goes down very slowly for me :( . But I will keep trying. . . =\\ God damn you Arishock, He's stopping me & Fenris getting together xD.

There is one move the Arishok does that gave me lots of trouble and it wasn't until half way through the fight I realised what I was doing wrong. I was trying the get far away from him when I should have been going off to the side instead. So once I figured that out I'd hit him, pause, see which move he was doing and then either try and get far away or get behind him. The twirly move he does can hit you even if your behind him but doesn't have much reach while the other move can get you from impossibly far so long as he's aimed at you. I couldn't seem to avoid the move where he stabs Hawke right the way through, couldn't tell he was going to do it until Hawke was already in the air.

If you are gonna go for the team fight instead maybe try to micromanage your team more than you usually would. Protect Anders, since he can heal the rest of your team, I find Anders to be the biggest fainter of all the companions.

Thanks for the heads up. And yes! I will just keep trying the solo. . and if it keeps failing? Then supporting Anders I will :).

Thankyou. And how do you pause and see what his action is going to do? (I have the xbox 360 version you see =\\)

This is IN1 answer for a rogue

fastest Arishok duel ever

since I don't think you have the gear I think you should try to run straight towards the Arishok, he will attack you, run behind the Arishok, and while the his attack animation plays you stab him (I'm not sure it works, it's ages ago that I played a rogue). This should quicken the combat.

Thankyou so much. And you are enough help :) I should try to avoid alot of hits and then go for it. Also, the evading talent is good for avoiding him. So thanks, i shall watch it :)

I also just wish I brought combustion grenades to stun him :(. . . God I wish I was so quick at killing him. His health just dies down slowly and he's too strong for me. . surely i will kill him one day. And even if I use my team. . . I hope they kill him too. lol

The button the get to the potions, talents, hold position etc. (can't remember what people call that menu) I always set mine so that you click on then click off because having to hold it annoys me. Its L2 on ps3 so I'd guess either LT or LB on xbox. I found pausing made the dodging easier.

On a related topic ever notice the Arishok sometimes charges into companions that are watching the duel. They stand further back once they've got hit.

Casual. . And yes, The easiest bloody difficulty and Im failing straight away :s He's so hard :(. I don't know why I keep failing when I have been evading as much as possible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I know what menu your talking about now :) Thankyou. And yeah, He charges up and always kills me that way, Also the reason why this is hard for me is that he's never giving me a chance to bloody get up, he keeps knocing me down and I then die. . It's not fair. . either way :(. Posted Image
Does Anders have petrify and crushing pin? Or the freeze spell? How about Merrill? I found the only way to beat him, with a weaker health was to freeze him in place and take out the mages and anyone else that is on the stair case. I left the achers and spear throwers on the top deck alone.
I have Anders and he has Petirfy. . and a freezing spell yes. . But all he seems to do is get killed because Arishock sends his guards first. Posted Image
Thats bad.
1st you should be around level 19 in that stage (I assume you only did the main quests)
2nd I assume that your party have the wrong talents
But, what party have you, and are you dw or archer, and what specs have you?
