ive noticed as a rogue that certain melee mobs can stagger me constantly, not letting me use any abilities like evade, is there stat i an raise that can help with this?

You cant always use companions if they are dead or tanking something

Increasing fortitude (Strength) and constitution (Max Hp) should help. Otherwise just getting good threat management and using CCs should help. There are also rings out there that can make you immune to knockback (not knockdown). Here's a copy and paste from my thread:

Explanation to knock-back/knockdown mechanics
Summary of posts from Peter Thomas:
After getting damaged there are four possible outcomes depending on the amount of force behind it.
Force is calculated by the amount of damage done (after taking into account armour/resistance and dmg reduction) multiplied by the force multiplier of the attack - e.g. 10dmg*x3-multiplier = 30 force.
Fortitude (force resistance) is subtracted from the amount of force that is received - e.g. 10 fortitude = 30-10 = 20 force taken.

Depending on the amount of force taken relative to max health you get:
1. <10% of max health = twitch of head - no interruption of actions
2. <20% of max health = knocked back a step - interrupted actions
3. <30% of max health = knocked back several steps - interrupted actions
4. >30% of max health = knocked of down/sent flying - interrupted actions

Based on this there are several methods to reduce knockback issues.
a) Increase armour rating/damage resistance = less damage taken
B) Increasing fortitude = less force taken
c) Increasing constitution = less force taken relative to max health
d) Items with immunity to knockback properties = immune to knockback(2&3) but knockdown(4) still possible
e) Not getting hit via dodging (via moving away or defense) or not been targeted (threat management & CC)

After some experience and gaining greater CC ability it is possible to get by quite easily via the methods listed above. However, for the initial levels while constitution, fortitude, and armour/dmg resistance are low knockback issues will be a major problem unless you are very good at option e).

Note: This is only in regards to physical damage - elemental damage causes other effects but based on the same force mechanics.

cool, will try that...

would one ring/belt make a difference or will i need to pump a bit of STR and CON too?

How much Con and Str should a rogue have?

Ummm no strength should be needed for a rogue. The ring will remove knock-backs but if the force is large enough to cause a knock-down you'll still go flying. So pumping some con should be enough to prevent that if you have a ring.

I think most DW rogue's would either use a ring or daggers that have that property as pumping con and str is wasteful damage-wise and dodging etc only goes so far.

the ring most ppl use is the etched ring of the twins - it's from that recently opened passage in sundermount (act2). Have fun with the nexus golem gauntlet though haha

It not only helps with knock-backs as it increases crit damage and crit chance by a considerable amount. So yeah, it may be worth to look into that if you have nothing else on your shopping list

lol that always works I guess. I guess you probably won't have as many knock-back issues on that difficulty.

Well goodluck! :)

Check out my Tank-Rogue thread. On hard you can be the only melee in your party with that build AND decimate everything.
