as I have said in othe threads I think the dlc will be prity poor this is not because the game is bad or that bioware will set out to make a cheap product but because the starongest part of DA 2 is it's comps and people around Hawke. so that being said unless there is DLC that progress the companions (Merrill Avaline and so on) then I don’t hold up muchhope.

as for DA3 and expansion packs. (if there is one) I hope we don’t play as Hawke asit would be unlikely that any of the comps will be back and its not hawkes story if he cant continue the LI in short (for me atleast) Hawke without Merrill = likely no buy. after all they tried it with Awakening and although i played it it felt empty with no LI (Lilliana). And being unable to interact with your companions properly.

on that note I have no interest in playing the Warden again as in my cannon play through my warden is dead hence the story is finished Morigan went away to lookfor a powerful host to posses cos she's a ****. sten died at kerkwall at Hawke's hand as generic solder of the quan Zevren is on the run from the crows Lilliana is an assassin of god(the maker) alister is king wyne I have no idea as she is not mentioned likely dead

so bring on the new charicters and story as far as I can say and lets let all the other rest in peace

Yeah you cant have a dating sim without our LI's..... Luckily this isn't a dating sim and we dont need those people =P

Yeah and personally I suspect how well this DLC (when it's released) may well make or break DA as a future franchise. If the DLC is poorly received, I can easily see EA just giving it up as a dog's meal.

Um ME has sold almost near 3 mil, DA2 has only sold over two mil(and EA has yet to comfirm if that's really shipping or if that was sold to consumers)

ALso just look at ratings for both games. ME was a hit, DA2 has a mixed reaction by both critics and fans.

If the Warden's story ends with Morrigan at the Mirror then that's a load of BS as that's no way to end a characters story. I would like to know from Bioware what is their direction with Dragon Age. I'm not asking for specific storylines or settings but do we play a new protaginist in every new game or do they plan to bring back the Warden or Hawke. At least give us an idea of where they want to go with this franchise.

I don't want a dateing sim if I did I'd play the sims the point I was bringing across or was trying to get across is that Hawke companions and the Wardens comps are a full package they are part of the story It's like star wars but without chuey or  java the hut. and as for the romance I know they arn't for everyone but to me It helps with feeling a part of a world it draws me in.

take the Witcher for example It's a good if not grate game with a world that is as fleshed out as DA mabe even more so if you have read the books but you have no companions no LI and as a result I feel as if i'm just an onlooker I can see all the intrsting thing going on but don't feel I'n realy part of the bigger whole.

think of it like a frozen lake you can see how deep it is and all the intresting life and fish and so on but you are unable to brake the ice.

Obviously I'm not at liberty to discuss anything in detail about any upcoming story DLC but I'll say a few things that will hopefully sate your curiousity for now

First of all, it's awesome. Yup. Awesome.
Secondly, we're ensuring that it is of the utmost quality when it is finally released and as such have really taken our time to incorporate all the feedback we've been receiving from the forums and make changes/additions accordingly.
Third, it's awesome. Did I mention that? Posted Image

We will have more information on it as gets closer to release but don't expect anything too soon; the patch and game quality are top priority.

God... does anyone else get the feeling that they are just using the "AWESOME BUTTON!!!" attempt on this?

After the backlash of fan responses from DA2, you'd think they would be saying "the upcoming DLC will be a strong, plot-driven story that further explores the world of Thedas and the story of Hawke" instead of "Dude! Its going to be TOTALLY awesome. Super serial." I'm already afraid for this DLC.

Fast Jimmy,

So am I. I am getting some very bad vibes out of Bioware and the Bioware:DA dev team lately.

Maybe Bioware sometimes forgets that their games are not played exclusively by 14 year old boys who scream "Duuuuude, the awesome button is awesome!!!"

@christrek1982 Your spelling, it hurts me.

Wait - they're really going with the whole "Awesome" routine again?  Seriously?

They learn nothing, do they?

Yes, because "awesome" only has one context in which it can EVER be used.

Somehow I doubt anyone would be comforted by the use of "fantastic" or "amazing" or any other equivalent, so why attack someone for the specific use of the word "awesome"? Any other term he used would still be incredibly vague, and there is nothing to suggest that "awesome" can't refer to a "strong, plot-driven story". It very well can.

I think it's overuse of the word awesome that may make people nervous. Hopefully Luke was just poking fun.

OK, you're right, that wasn't fair. I thought it was cute how the statement was worded, and I was really just commenting on that. My intent was not to offend, but clearly I have failed in that.

It's the curse of a detail person. Some people are "big picture", I'm "detail". I have this conversation with my best friend all the time, as she is like you, and doesn't sweat the small things that are important to me. She's able to see the massive realm of something; I put everything under a microscope. It's just a difference in personality. I don't think I'm perfect by ANY means; far from it. Spelling, punctuation, etc. is something that's important to me. If it's not to you, that's your choice.

I'd wager English is not his native language. If not, I don't mean to offend, I've just had a lot of experience with very intelligent people on the internet who speak English as a second (or, oftentimes third or fourth) language.

Regardless, I'm less afraid of the word "awesome" and more afraid that it wasn't attached to any relevant descriptive subjects. Like plot or story. I'd say in a heartbeat that the story of the show Justified is awesome. It is really well written and has some phenomenal plot twists.

But when the dev team comes out before DA2 and says "ZOMG guys, super, super serial the game iz AWESOME!!!" and I turn out disappointed to the point I can't even barely get through a second playthrough... and then they have people coming out again and are giving the same sounding description, it makes me fearful that its going to have the same feeling product. Which would be a shame, in my opinion.

I have been happy with both installments so far. But the biggest thing I want to see is the resolution of Morrigan, the baby, and Flemeth. I don't really care if that involves the Warden, Hawke, or another character, though if I had my preference it would be the Warden Commander since he is most closely associated with those characters.
